Gino is the former player that BJackson referenced wanting the AD job.

He would crush it. Would raise 5x what Blake has. Have Gino add Highsmith as Head of Football Operations or Asst AD of Football Operations.

Time to put together a list of BOT, influential boosters, and important media Twitter handles and let it be known that Frenk/James need to go. Cut the head off this snake and add Hurricane royalty to the Athletic department.

If people want to add handles of people that should be included I will update/add this first post.

Pardon my ignorance, but has Torretta had experience doing anything similar? I have no doubt that he would do well fund raising, but what about the other duties of an AD... particularly the non-football ones. Maybe he would do well, but I would at least think twice - look at the trouble that USC got themselves into hiring former players...

Alonzo at least has experience working in the front office of a major sports organization.

I could be wrong, but hasn't GT been the AD @ IMG for a while? I'm hungover so I could be off.
 
hoch, on hoch and crowder straight asked gino do you want the AD job. Gino said "Man anyone that played at UM would come help right now if you asked them for something."

basically dodged it. they had gino on talking mostly about the 91 team since they were honored last satuday...


they also asked gino what the admin was like back then. Gino said the admin back then didn't care about football either, they just had a bunch of guys that wanted to win to say F u to the admin.

VERY, VERY unlikely Zo in a subordinate role to Toretta.

Has Toretta had a successful business career since leaving NFL?

Do you know has no experience being an athletic director? Gino. We don’t need any first time athletic directors just like we don’t need any first time head coaches. At least Alonzo has football Administration experience

I like the idea because UM football is different from other programs. But has this ever been a thing at another university? I guess I'm just baffled at how they don't just fire Blake and bring in a real AD who knows how to run an entire athletics program. I mean if it takes Alonzo coming in here as GM of football to get us back moving forward I'm all for it.....just seems odd to me that we can't do it the normal way.

Gino has been very successful in business including being a prior President of the Alumni Association.

Sounds back to what they wanted before. So do you think Blake stays in this scenario? I think I know what Manny's fate would be.
