Tom Herman is apparently an offensive genius

Jeremy Pruitt is a good defensive coordinator but do you think he would make a good head coach?

Why would any competent coach want to work for a crap BOT/AD? There's plenty of work out there.

Exception: Butch. He wants a chance at redemption.

Both have been horrible coaches when were the HC. Lane was fired at USC on the plane ride home during the middle of the season. Cristobal was fired at FIU! UM fan logic, a guy isn't good enough for FIU, but will be perfect for the Canes! SMFH

There's no data to support any of these guys. They haven't coached at Miami. Golden had great "data" until he got to the big leagues.

Butch is the only guy where you know what you're getting. But from what I hear, it's not looking like a possibility.

It isn't so much about being surprised as it just makes my blood boil every time I read something like that. Let's all be real here. What the ***** is actually the problem here? The fact that Butch took a huge pay day from the NFL when this 2nd rate administration was trying to low ball him on his buyout? I mean Jesus H on a popsicle sticks that was 15 years ago and a couple of soft shouldered blue gums on the BOT are all butt hurt about it? Are you freaking kidding me?

What's the other issue? That he has baggage from UNC? GTFOOH! We've been through this. He was completely exonerated by the NCAA and the Governor of NC and he has it in writing! So what really is the issue? The fact that the milquetoast and spineless BOT don't like the optics of if? I mean how in the flipping **** can we have the perfect guy sitting right in front of us and the BOT not realize it? How can any organization be that obtuse?

I hear ya.
But for reasons that you outlined, he won't be the next UM HC.
And you're preaching to the choir regarding the BOT.
Thus, I just don't see any reason to be surprised or even mad at this point.
I got over it awhile ago.
It is what it is, unfortunately.

BUTCH DAVIS is the only answer because he's willing to take us, warts and the BOT. He needs redemption.

I understand that Butch was the 7th choice, the first time around. This time he might be the 17th, but it will happen.

The problem with Chud is he wants to coach in the NFL. He probably won't come back and if he did, he would use us as a stepping stone. I don't trust anyone on the BOT to make another decision regarding the football program. Butch will stay since he knows he won't have as much success anywhere else. Along the process he'll probably groom his assistants and one can take over when he's done.
 
Butch. I wouldn't be upset with Herman though. He's a good coach with an attitude the ****es people off. He's our type of guy too.
 
There are no guarantees. Butch will be 68. How long is he going to coach. One of the young guys comes in like a Herman, Morris, or Fuentes, and they could be gone to the NFL after tasting success. So it's all the same in my book even Chud.

I havent watched enough of the smaller programs to know who the up and comers are, but here are a few names that may be worth a look:

1. Klingsbury
2. Jim Leavitt
3. Mangino
4. Mike Smith
5. Pagano
 
COKER. Is everyone forgetting this blast from the past; our last NC corch?

His team is 0-4 and might not be in need of his services, soon.

By the way, he works EXTREMELY cheap. The BOT will like that.
