If Miami lands these...

We are the #4 class in the nation as it currently stands.

I'm not sure we get all the way to Top 5 the day after national letter of intent day in Feb. And that's really the only day that it "counts". But we'll be close.

One consideration is that this year's class rankings will be affected by the lifting of the class caps. You'll have some teams signing 30+ so their classes will score higher even if their average player rankings aren't as good. Maybe we're in that group, maybe we're not.

I also think that the symmetry of the class (all groups covered with good talent) and how it balances the team is even more important than talent. I'll be looking at whether or not we fill all the holes and we land disruptors who can break a game open. If we do that, I really don't care if we're #1 or #15.

Not to be a star ***** (even though I am one) and overly nerdy (also true) but we have too many 3 stars committed to end up top 5 right. The last 5 years, top 5 teams averaged 5 3star players and all had at least 3 5* players. We will need to get some bumps and land mostly top 150 guys from here on out.

UGA had 8 3 stars last cycle. We have 6 now with Seymore decommit. We may have atleast 1 of those be bumped up. I don't think it's the 3 stars which is the issue. I think we need around 17 4 star or higher players to breach the top 5 depending on how the numbers pan out with teams going Portal heavy or not.

For me average recruit ranking is a better barometer.

That’s what I was trying to say if we are going to have a higher count of 3 stars then we need to have highly rated 4 stars. UGA’s signed 6 4* players in the top 100 in addition to the 5 5* players. That’s over 10% of the top 100… I don’t see us doing that as of today

Yes their bar is pretty high, but look at the teams at 5 and 6. Those guys classes are attainable. And it might be more attainable with multiple teams that may not even finish in the top 10 even taking highly rated prospects like UL and Mich St. Basically the talent maybe spread out more.

Btw another good dynamic to look at is how many players we can get from the top 100-150. There is a gap between a highly rated 4 star thats say #70 and one who is #350.

Keep in mind that with no 25 IC cap this year, classes will look a lot different than in other years

Carver, Tripp and Emory will get bumps.

My expectations still are 9-15 range year 1 but **** Mario really steppin on people so **** if we have a successful season I could see top 5 ain’t no tellin

Miami can win the ACC every year with classes in those ranges. Top 5 classes these days are absurd and you need like 4 5-stars to be in the top 5. Mario should have top 10 or so classes every year. No excuse not to be in the ACC championship games most years.

If we get 4 5 stars we. We need around 16 4 stars to crack the top 5. Texas had 2 5 stars, same as Ohio I think and both were 4 and 5. Texas had 20 4 stars.

I wanna see how close we can get to 20 combined blue chippers. That's almost an entire 2 deep a blue chip athletes on one side of the ball.

Are we trending for these guys
trending heavily. I dont know if we will finish top 5, but what I am enjoying is Mario's recruitinf strategy. Just like with the coaching staff it seems like it took a while for him to build momentum because he was laying the groundwork. Now we are about to see a run of top 247 guys commit to the program and unlike past regimes, there are high quality Plan B and C kids that are constantly recruited.

If Miami has a 9-10 win season this year I can see us easily landing a top 7-10 class.
