It’s been confirmed by multiple sources Enos is getting $1.5mm per year

Also, note that the list posted clearly said total compensation not base salary

This is the secret to success. Either you hire a system guy or hire a recruiter and surround him with quality OC/DC. This is why I believe Cristobal would special down here if the admin was ready to give him real support. Bags aside, I'd put Mario up against anyone in the country.

Notice, all playoff teams have coaches that made the list. That's not a coincidence!

And look at the teams on the list not in the playoffs. Some have never been in the playoffs. Sure, having exceptional coordinators is important, but just like anything there is a select group and that is why they are paid the way they are, but salary does not dictate success. Others reach and over pay hoping to catch the magic. You can see the ones that have the system down, and the ones that caught lightning in a bottle and are now overpaid by someone hoping they can do it again at their school.

And Mario, if I did not love the Canes I would pray he was hired once Manny is fired. It is like us hoping the F$U would hire Deion or O'Dell, or the gator hiring a guy like Charlie Strong. Mario is in a perfect spot for him where mediocre coaches can shine like Chip or Wille. Some though just want a coach that was a 5-5 team away from the playoffs I guess and couldn't win.

Right now, Mario is pretty **** close to landing 2 5-star LB in this class. He came back to SFLA and is about to walk away with an OG that we actually need (Denis). Last year, he landed the #1 recruit in the nation.

By no means an I saying Mario is JJ but, as a HC, hes an extraordinary recruiter. Pair him with quality, successful coordinators, and I think we'd give Clemson a run of their $ in a few years. Clemson uses the same model with Dabo and I think Mario is a superior recruiter than Dabo (who has the benefit of bag$). Plus, Manny is well-liked by most in SFLA. He's not the best gameday coach but if your looking for another Saban/Meyer type to be the next HC, I think UMs pockets are THAT deep!

UM's pockets were never deep yet we have 5 MNC's, and really should have a few more. Sure the game has changed, but did you expect Meyer to be what he is thought of today when he left Utah for UF? There are guys out there like Howard, JJ or Butch that could build the program, but we bring in the wrong personality because we don't want anyone who will upset the applecart. Manny is the perfect example of this. Now we have players quitting on their team and being welcomed back with open arms. How will players have any fear of anything with this mentality? But Manny is a company man, so no big deal, and the ACC money is rolling in with donations, so all is well. I don't think Mullen is the greatest, but I like him better than Mario. Why is he not on our sidelines? Because he is not a yes man. Get it? Mario would come down here and be just another coach, and I do not want that in this program. Just shut it down if we have to hire yes men because the AD is too weak to deal with a strong personality coach.

If the truth about distance is correct we might have had one of the 5 star LB's depending on what you believe on this board, and that is with Manny recruiting. Also, depending on what you read on this board Denis is a project and is not a plug and play type kid, which with our OL is what we need, see Nelson for example of trying to put weight on a guy and insert him before he is ready. Also, Shannon had the number 1 class as well at one point in his career. I will take the results on the field, how they develop the talent, and how the motivate the players to win. Just don't see Mario as the guy, but just a guy. That's just me though.

Whatever else you guys wanna say, please dont excuse our OL recruiting on the grounds denis is a project. We surely didnt replace him with a plug and play option. We just settled for nada.

Trouble is that is we paid that much Diaz would probably bring in someone he feels comfortable with and has worked with in the past and we know what has happened there.
That’s what a functioning AD is supposed to be there for.

Our OL recruiting smells like intentional self-destruction. Just unbelievable. WTf is manny thinking?

One thing being a Canes fan has taught me, the level of incompetence knows no bounds. We are going to go from punters getting WR reps to TE's getting OL reps. Smh

Didnt we just go thru a season where we started a 2* true frosh “left tackle” who weighed 235 lbs just months before coming here and who we stole from a D2 program? Is this real life?

Maybe the admin wants to get a qb hurt bad so they have an excuse to drop football?

Everyone needs to note something. The NUMBER ONE salary for an OC is...Alabama's! That's the job our own OC WALKED AWAY from! As some have noted, our assistants do NOT have a publicly listed salary. Private school, private salary.

Dan Enos is LIKELY one of the highest paid OC's in the country if he walked away from Alabama and that much money.
