Yep. We have a lot of lazy people voting in these polls who seem, when in doubt, to do exactly what you wrote-vote for the usual suspects. Every publication wrote about UM’s losses of Wong and Miller, and none wrote about the significance of adding Matt Cleveland, our incoming freshmen, or most importantly, the year over year progress that UM players make under Coach L.
But when it comes to Duke, none of those same people care much about what happened last year because of the recruiting class, never mind the fact that Duke is mostly working through Filipowski and their returning guards, who UM abused last year. Hype still wins in preseason and early season polls instead of experience and results.
