Too many issues to count

That’s fine but he’s won and Oregon and most of you wanting him gone already are being overly dramatic
It's fine that you have chosen patience. But you can not blame the fans one bit for wanting to hold an experienced head coach to account when he has grossly underachieved...especially considering the salary he receives

And your point? Mario won 10 games at Oregon and 12 another year. He knows how to put a team together I’m not sure what world most of you are living in.

This season has been terrible and unacceptable so let him fix it, he’s been here less than a year and has more credentials than most anyone else we could have gotten.

He’s not an X and Os play called but he shot for the sky with Gattis and it’s been a big flop.
I can accept this failure of a season from a first time HC w no experience bc thats what we've seen this year in terms of what the coaching has been like. this is an experienced staff with an experienced HC. this has been one of the worst coaching jobs in the country as it stands. it isnt acceptable.

My best friend is a Noles fan and like me he’s knows a little more than the average fan schematically, not an expert , so I was asking him about their offense. First thing he said was “ lots of counters from different formations“. Which brings me to Steele. How are we aligning the way we are and getting out of our lanes knowing they run a bunch of counters? They didn’t even have to get creative. As I said on the podcast “
there’ll be a bunch of window dressing by FSU and eye discipline will be huge”. Well they didn’t even go deep in the bag , they took what they wanted smh.

Why is your best friend a Noles fan?

saban was actually good at MSU for a program that really was never good at football.

Mario did have success at Oregon. he also has been a complete failure and has probably had the worst or one of the worst coaching seasons in modern canes history

I mean, George Perles was better at MSU than Saban was at MSU

I am new here obvious and I was being polite.

I‘m not coming in here and wasting my time and yours posting the same ole drivel about breakdowns, pro’s & cons , who stood out and how I’m feeling as a fan. Nobody wants to read that and tbh I don’t feel like writing it. The game was what it was and so is the season. I’m over it all and I have no emotion about it either way. Nothing was shocking last night and that’s why it was easy for me to turn it off in the third quarter, as if I’ve been watching a bad movie. No anger , sadness or embarrassment. Just another horrible performance on a Saturday. Oh well.

This thread is more about the longterm health of the program and the countless issues staring it in the face . I’m going to make this short and sweet with no sugarcoating.

First and foremost this staff needs changes. Multiple coaches HAVE TO BE GONE!! If not the class will lose guys and current recruits will give Miami no shot. Program changing type recruits Including guys committed. That’s not opinion , that’s purely fact. Nobody wants to play for some of these coaches or their scheme.

We have of a staff of individuals instead of a staff. Coaches that care more about their ego, protecting their brand and moving up in coaching circles versus actually teaching and building relationships. Coaches that came here because they were butthurt at their other job, or had issues with their previous HC’s. When you have coaches leaking crap out or giving quotes throwing players under the bus to cover your own *** you lose the position room. Trust and respect go a long way in coaching and we lack that as a staff. This is far more than horrible coaching , it goes all the way down to recruiting. There’s only a few guys carrying the water and others that think just by showing up to the games everything is Gucci. “You‘ve been recruited , I’ve done my part“ lol.

Yes we have a bad culture , quitters on the roster and lack talent but the issues are much bigger than that. It’s much deeper. There’s toxicity every where and the on field product shows. Chemistry on a staff is just as important as chemistry with a locker room.
Basically the same viewpoint as we take with players announcing that they are entering the portal after having nothing but problems. Like sure sometimes a coach just doesn't fit somewhere, but when there is legit discord with a coach on a staff, maybe we shouldn't be making that guy a priority over options. Like honestly the QB coach/OC has to either be the same person or have a good connection. A non QB coach as OC imo just doesn't work out that well. When Addae and Kirby Smart had issues, sure maybe it was just a bad fit, but we didn't need to make him the guy. And it appears Mario backed into that one in the first place because he didn't expect TRob to leave. DBs have been a complete **** show all year. Also does Rod Wright have any impact on this team/recruiting? With Charlie Strong, I'm not too opinionated because I truly believe we are just *** there and he actually has gotten the most out of Flagg even though he sucks.

Fire: Gattis, Addae, Ponce and maybe Rod Wright. Kevin Smith and Field at RB/TE along with Mirabal at OLine seem safe imo. Defensively I think Addae clearly isn't a fit. I think the big question is if we stick with Steele or not. Like I think if we made a big DB hire to replace Addae, I'd actually prefer to promote DVD and move on from Wright. DVD is a recruiting star, and a guy that will eventually want to work his way up as a position coach. So I'm sure other teams will try to get him. Last year I didn't want DVD as an on field coach. But if we have a top DB coach there too, I won't mind him getting a promotion.

lol his last four years at MSU were miserable and got sanctioned by the NCAA.

go ahead and make an argument that the great Cristobal is the next saban. maybe by year 17 **** figure it out

hire the OC and DC first. ask him who he wants to keep or remove. thats it

Where did you get that I was defending Cristobal? You said Michigan State was never good. Perles took them to the Rose Bowl and a couple of Top ten finishes. Saban didn't I didn't think that was a controversial statement.

Eh, that's also how you get a guy like Donofrio with Paul Williams.
I dont want Mario making a single position coach choice. you lose that right after this season esp when you aren't a play caller on either side. he can choose the coordinators and then allow that person to bring who they want to teach their scheme.

Eh Maybe offensively, you want the OC to have some people he's familiar with, but we aren't firing Field or Mirabal at TE/OLine either. Defensively I really don't think you need a preexisting connection. Like if you get Corey Raymond, the DC doesn't need a pre-existing connection for that to be a great hire.

im only honestly keeping field and smith. I think if Mario is here, it doesn't matter if mirabal is really here imo. the OL will be good with or without AM. im not worried about that position group recruiting or development.

as for defense, I do agree you dont need a pre-existing connection but I want that to be the DCs call. you aren't hiring top tier coordinators if youre making all their choices for the position groups

Mirabal isn't getting fired dude.

just frustrating as ****

Ohio State NEVER gets blown out, they are in every game. Michigan is working toward that, UGA is there, bama is there, USC is there.

Just sucks that we consistently for 20 years cannot field a competitive team multiple times per year and suffer blowout losses. Why is there so little parity in most big programs and then here we are, complete and utter dog sh**
💯💯 u can’t even feel confident for any game anymore. Any game for us is a toss up. Any game
