Too many issues to count

Why not? North Carolina did the same thing a few years ago.
And we ran the same play with the same formation for the last 10 plays of regulation vs UVA. Brantley in-motion to kick out block on an RPO.

We can get mad at Steele but the O did not move the ball. We had a TO at the 10 (Jake to wide open CB) and a BAD punt to the 35 from the 5. The D adjusted in the second half even with Miami's O still sucking. If not for a 4th down conversion, Miami gives up 7 points in the second half even with 3 additional turn overs.

Ponce is loyal to Mario and actually left a good situation and took a step down to work with Mario. He and him go way back to his FIU days.

There is also a former HC whose name has been brought up that runs an offensive scheme some people would like to see implemented here that also is from the Mario coaching tree.

He is currently unemployed. Would not be surprised to see him, Ponce, and Mario reunited at some point.
You mean Dan Mullen?

Mario seems fine with Gattis offense… He just wants to blame the players. That’s an issue and falls on him. As far as Steele, his *** probably retires anyway. Other coaches not earning their pay - Not sure any of them are doing a good job. Until Mario gives full control to his OC and DC, nobody worth a **** will want to come here.

Culture is obviously an issue and it will take time to fix. I seen numerous kids last night dapping(is that what the kids say these days?) up FSU players after getting ran through and getting bombs thrown over their head. What the **** kind of **** is that? You think guys like Nate Webster, Warren Sapp, Ray Lewis, or even some recent players like Jamal Carter are dapping up FSU players after they have a big play? Alot of these current kids have no pride at all for this school. No backbone at all. Just out there getting *****ed by any opposing team. Soft *** team
I don't believe that Mario "seems fine with the Gattis offense". He has to be really ****ed and he DOES understand that a good part of the problem IS Gattis .... his scheme, his play calling, his relationship with the players.

yes. i don't get how people think mario mentioning how gattis won broyles award last year and michigan offense was great last year while his offense this year hasn't scored a TD in 9 quarters is a vote of confidence in gattis.

The called-back INT in the end zone sums up this program for me. Guy picks it off, obviously should down it, but says "**** the team I'm getting my run-back" and makes it (barely) to the 1 yard line. They talk about football IQ? Well, it and discipline are non-existent in this program.
That was one of the stupidest plays I’ve ever seen. And I know it was called back

Firing , “mutual parting” or taking another job. Either way Gattis won’t be here next year. I laid my nuts on the line with Manny and Blake last year months In advance and I’m doing it again now.
That is true. You called that **** super early when everyone else said otherwise.

Bro, you don’t have to explain this to anyone who understands.

We have talent issues. We have injuries. But so does every other team not in the top 5 elite teams.

But but we’re slow. Texas A&M has some of the fastest guys in the country, but they suck for many of the same reasons we do.

We didn’t purge the malcontents well enough, but I wonder. Do the players have cause to reject some of the things the staff is doing? You could make a good argument they do. I know it’s best to put your head down, listen and focus, even in the face of adversity, but young guys mostly need to be taught and lead to that. The 10-80-10 rule is undefeated and we are failing against its principles.

There is too much deflecting and blaming in that locker room and the devastating thing is, the coaches are in on it. A house divided can’t stand and we look like the Bad News Bears of college football.

Mario has the personality to fix it. He seems like a genuine dude. But he has to learn from his mistakes. If we got a better fit at oc, this season would be completely different and the other issues wouldn’t be so pronounced.

The offense has no rhythm, no confidence, and no clue. Garcia is toast and we had to throw Jacurri to the wolves. That kid is special and we are running the risk of ruining him with ineptitude.

Let’s make a run at a proven guy. Mullen or some real up and comer. I keep hearing about the Riley guy at TCU.

Things are bad but we are not as bad as we look. Purge the distractions, portal up, and build these guys confidence through discipline and success. It’s not easy, but we have made it harder than it has to be.
I agree. I'm into finding the cure. We know things are *** for whatever reason

I mentioned in camp his teaching style ( using that loosely) wasn’t helping things, on top of players having issues learning the system. Then they get bashed publicly as the worst group on the team. As I said back then “ but who coaches them? They’ve all regressed “. After all his comments and leaks there’s No trust or respect by players.

“ Ego and toxic “ is what I kept hearing when he was hired and nothing has changed my mind.
And he’s had two public off field issues in ****ing off K5’s mom and fighting on social media w the OSU guy over whether he really ran his offense at Michigan. Add immature and insecure to his list of negative traits.

I think I’d can Gattis and let Ponce finish out the season with the offense he wants to run at this point. Gattis is only exacerbating problems now.

If nothing else , it gives us more time to vet a new oc.

Even if we went scoreless from here on out, it wouldn’t be that much worse than what we have seen.

It shows everyone that Mario is serious about accountability and flexible to address glaring issues quickly. A good hire or big names being thrown around would give reasons for hope and excitement. Right now things are dire and could undo some of the great things Mario has done.
