Tons of smoke that Jimbo is resigning at the end of the year

After doing a quick google search it seems like Jimbo has a relationship with the Aggies athletic director Scott Woodward going back to the LSU days.

Sometimes connections like that are a bit more meaningful than the things being talked about by fans in this thread.

IF true, what does this say about the state of free shoes. Allowing sexual assault and stealing are no longer enough to build a program in trailorhassee.

TAMU's facilities are first class. The fans come to every game and the stadium gets loud as he'll. Holds 90 something thousand. If you're TAMU, you're thinking you're 1 great coach away from winning titles. So if you have the money, which they do, you go after the guy you think can get you there.

TAMU is AWASH in oil money. Weren't they the ones who initiated the big money signings of college head coaches? With Jackie Sherrill, way back when.

We call this "the fallacy of the SEC outside of Tuscaloosa".

Man, I really hope he stays. I think that they can occasionally be a good team under Jimbo, if/when he manages to catch lightning in a bottle like he did with Crab Legs. Overall, though, I think they are going to consistently drop 3-4 games a year. I can live with that kind of near-mediocrity from FSU, so I'm hoping he stays.

What I don't want to see is Jimbo leaving, and FSU hiring a dynamic young coach who installs a high-octane up-tempo offense, injecting fresh energy into the program.

I like the way your think but it doesn't matter what they do. All that matters is what we do. If we keep our crap together, we will be what we were and the only thing available for everyone else is the occasional title when we are feeling to loved to kick read ends.

right you are sir, i played for JS, it was considered insane at the time what they were paying him, just trying to get one up on Texas. Slocum ended up having a great career there, he was my DC, good man

JS had some good teams with the Ags, some of his better teams in the 80's vs Arkansas when Hatfield was there were really good games. When I was a teen, one of my favorite games that I remember was 1986 when the Aggies had Kevin Murray and came into LR highly ranked, came down to last play throw to the end zone. There were good games in that era between those two but that one sticks out.

lol @ Jimbo leaving... he had a good run.. He has another 4 yrs at least according to the admin...

Chad Morris is the white Sumlin with less HC experience. These middle of the road SEC teams will keep churning through HCs every 3 years chasing Sabag. It's funny to watch.

These nothing programs like AM and Arkansas think they're something because they have money. They're like the rich sloppy dude driving the Ferrari trying to be hot when everyone knows they can't even achieve a full tumescence.

And just after the game, Jimbo once again refused to shoot down the USA Today report that Texas A&M has targeted Fisher to replace embattled coach Kevin Sumlin. After a school-first fifth straight victory over UF and seventh in eight tries, I asked Coach Gator Killer if this was his last Florida-Florida State game.

Replied Jimbo: “I love this Florida-Florida State game, I hope not. That’s for sure.”

Jimbo ducking and weaving committing back to FSU.

With Texas A&M job opening looming, was this FSU coach Jimbo Fisher's last game against Gators? - Orlando Sentinel

I doubt Jimbo leaves FSU but if he did that would be a huge blow for FSU. Not many options out there.

"Not many options" to coach FSU?? Are you kidding?
Top coaches would line up for a chance to take their talent and run with it.

Definitely a top 5 coaching job. I hope he stays because he has lost luster and will lose more recruits, but the Crims will stay a big job.

Jimbo rode some great S Fla players to a championship. That well is drying up and he knows it. Texas has a wealth of talent and Jimbo really knows how to recruit. I would not be surprised if he leaves . He got into it with some fans this year and he is a fiery type guy. He also has a few bad memories there with his divorce.I think he is a great coach and his record shows that. But I think he stays.
Tell me what our record would be if Shireffs started after the first game this year? His team will be much better next year. They were within 3 points at Clemson in the 4th quarter. and were driving until Blackman threw an interception.
College athletes are much more variable in performance than professionals. There is a fine line between 7-5 and 10-1. We were on the winning end of that line this year ,but it could easily have gone the other way. Jimbo knows this.
As long as he is at FSU he will be a tough out. he is 7-1 against both UM and UF in the last 8 years .Thats an incredible record.
