Toney vs Santana?

Santana made some plays in '97 but had nowhere near the impact Toney has had to this point. But also that team was garbage with a dusting of amazing freshman talent.

It is 5 games in his first season let’s relax. Toney is doing great but Moss had the speed to take off the top. Punt returns are not even close.

I would say there are some similarities but Santana was a sprinter learning to play the position and Toney is just a football player through and through. Dude seems to love pancaking a guy run blocking as much as catching a long TD. The heart and passion are similar though. Santana also struggled with drops early on. Has Toney dropped anything yet?
 
Don't think Toney compares to any WR we've had since I remember (early 90s on). Moss, Kevin Williams, etc were all much faster than Toney. Gun to my head I'd compare him to Restrepo, but that's a terrible comp too.
 
Too early to tell. Give the kid of pair of years to have a body of work. Laron Byrd and Aladarius Johnson made some nice plays their first year too.

Well, Toney is going to shatter Tana’s numbers. But it’s because of style of offense. You put him in today’s game he’s getting you 1,500

Moss was faster and had just as much wiggle as Toney. Toney will end up better IMO.
 
Get the Santana Moss comparisons, but wonder if it’s not an easy or lazy take. Is it the first thing thought of because of comparable size? Don’t remember Moss being this impactful so early - Toney just turned 18 - or so dynamic & used in so many ways.
 
Toney is going to end up being a lot bigger than Moss--e.g. he is/was 5'11" ~180 lbs. as a true freshman at 17. I bet he's 6' or slightly more and ~195 lbs. by the time he enters the pros.

And maybe I don't understand the post. It just simply says Toney versus Santana. I know what Santana did over his career and I know what Malachi did his first year I'm still saying it's a wash let's see what happens
