I know that we all watch the games, but my goodness. This kid is the real deal and showed speed/burst that I wasn't sure that he had. Speaking for myself, I was enamored when Coley was making plays as a freshman, but this seems different. I know I am not breaking any news but the kid is electric and I am enjoying that we get him on our team for several years to come.

Plays with the wisdom of football Yoda. It’s incredible.

Was just going to say this. Watch the 2nd TD. Watch the patience off the line, watch how he finds the exact soft spot and whips his head around. He’s on the 100.0% same page as our 6th year senior QB. That is feel for the game. It’s 4th and 2, he’s not overexcited, he’s not impatient. Go watch that play again, and watch him the entire time. He knows EXACTLY how to beat that defense, and then when he gets the ball, goodnight. Simply electric in the open field.

Hand up, I wanted Trebor Pena for this exact reason. 17 year olds, almost never, have that feel for an offense and game. It’s why I wanted Pena to replace X, because this is Dawson’s offense. You need a kid in that spot who can feel a game. Not just run and catch, but feel the game. I didn’t think Toney, or any freshman at 17, could do it. I was way, way wrong. He is so ******* good.

I know you’re a data guy. He’s the definition of an outlier. Watched the game yesterday with a buddy with whom I played junior high ball 3 decades ago and with whom I’ve watched thousands of football scenarios. We couldn’t stop talking about how he does these tiny little things that are usually done by old veterans. Just watch how he fields punts. I wish him nothing but health.

.... just came to post a "What makes Malachi Toney special?" question and here y'all are 😃

My worthless 2 cents:

The young man is a football player, pure and simple: Got the mind for it, Got the talent for it, Got the toughness for it. A lot of players might be blessed with one or two of those traits, but No. 10 got all three

Was he a five star for this upcoming class before he reclassified?

Three star on ESPN. Clueless *****.

They advertised their stupidity on national TV with that ranking during the ND game.

The announcer kinda threw the rankers under the bus, too, saying "and he's a guy who reclassified and was recruited by EVERYbody."

Bottom of the screen: ESPN 3* recruit.

****** hilarious.

A lot of people claim that they’re THAT DUDE…. Well Toney is in fact THAT DUDE!

His TD where he put little on skates and the TD that got called back on that BS Marion motion call were special plays where he simply out talented the other team

Big time player making some big time plays
