Look at the Ole Miss schedule compared to our mostly cake walk. They're up **** creek without a someone adequate at both tackle spots.

The coaches watched Kinsler's tape, saw him head-to-head when the Canes ended the Rebs' season in PHX and figured $1M is an acceptable deal for someone who can block SEC defensive ends adequately enough to protect their Heisman Trophy candidate QB

Just like the NFL with the salary cap except in college its a invisible salary cap. Sports franchises aren't going to match a extraordinary high offer when they feel they have a player on the team thats atleast close to being as good thats alot cheaper

I think this will be a common theme. College coaches get a player who has actually been coached up.

They will pay for it too obviously.
 
Not to mention the guys he was battling till the end of camp for the starting role looked dismal once Kinsler got hurt. I’m glad we didn’t try to match anything

I know its a strange concept...but sometimes you can't stop a player from leaving.

Kinsler IV is 1a at his position for Ole Miss, a team with a garbage offensive line generally (Kiffin schemed around that as a weakness, I think they were graded 76th best in the nation last year before we played them).

Kinsler has "great technique generally" but couldnt be trusted on because he's ******* out of shape.

His conditioning is/was straight ***.

To summarize, he cant even hold down a firm slot on a garbage line despite having good technique because he's so out of shape.

I'd be willing to speculate that to Cristobal et al, that that's a matter of commitment or lack thereof.

I'd call that good coaching and physical limitations that the staff was willing to move on from.

Or at least, a line in the sand re: upping a player's NIL.

If he were a worthy 7 figure linemen you’d figure he’d get into rotation at least once in close games.
