Tom Herman to interview at South Carolina next week

More nonsense. Herman is trying to win his conference and he has a huge game against Navy on Friday. Navy is very good and his Cougars will get all they can handle and more. Herman will have plenty of suitors in 2 to 3 weeks.

Was never a great job until Spurrier arrived. Big shoes to fill and would be smart to look elsewhere. USCe seems like the school that appears to be a great job but really is just average at best. On the flip side, the down SEC East would give anyone hope that the job is more attractive than it really is.

I doubt Herman would take this job. I believe Ray Tanner is in love with Kirby Smart and he will be named coach of the Gamecocks very soon....

Houston head coach Tom Herman is unlikely to end up as South Carolina's head coach, according to Chris Low of ESPN.
"South Carolina has major interest in Tom Herman, but after checking with some close to the situation, I'd be surprised if he ends up there," Low writes. Herman just received a pay raise, more than double his current salary, so expect him to stay at Houston for the 2016 season.

@GamecockColonel I think it's more that he wants to be patient with so many jobs out there and maybe even more coming open.

That would be unfortunate. I want Miami to have a crack at him.

South Carolina is NOT a good job regardless if they are in the SEC. It's a historically bad job, and the history suggests its just not a good job. It would rank 5th in the SEC EAST above KENTUCKY AND VANDY. That's it.

^ I just got the notification of Brock's story on my phone. We need to interview this cat.

So many good options out there. Miles is definitely getting canned too.

Please don't **** this up.

From football scoop

Tom Herman: Houston’s Tom Herman has removed his name from consideration at South Carolina according to Pat Forde. Sources tell us that Herman plans to stay put…unless UT opens.

If you all are going to claim that Herman is the next great coach, then it doesn't matter where he coaches at he should be able to turn that school into a winning program. That doesn't mean that they will win a title but in today's college football you can win anywhere if you're good. Examples are....Mike Belotti and Chip Kelly at Oregon....Urban Myer and Kyle Whittinghm at Utah...Nick Saban and Mike Dantonio at Michgan St.....Gary Pinkel at Missouri... Kirk Ferentz at Iowa.....Mike Gundy at Oklahoma St....Gary Patterson at TCU....Art Briles at Baylor....Charlie Strong and Bobby Petrino at Louisville....Nick Saban and Les Miles at LSU

None of the schools above are great jobs, nor do they have any history of winning but those coaches were able to make them relevant in college football. If Herman is what you think he is than he should be able to pickup where Spurrier left off and build a monster in the SEC east, his only competition is Florida and Georgia, neither of which are juggernauts.

LSU is a great job, Louisiana has freaks year in and year out.

Texas won't hire him unless 10 other people turn down the job.

Stoops, Sumlin, Briles, Patterson, Saban, Miles, Harbaugh, etc.

You obviously don't know LSU history, they were a non existent program that never won anything until the arrival of Nick Saban and he past the torch to Les Miles. There is no difference between SC and LSU other than the fact that LSU was made relevant by the past two coaches.. I've been to both schools multiple times, facilities, game day experience, resources are all equal.

Right now, the ppl who we are going after the hardest is

Herman
Chip
Hue

This came straight out of the playmakers mouth...

You know, those are 3 really strange ways to spell, Butch! Just joking. Had to get that in. Anyways, that's a pretty solid list of 3. But if what Blake said is true, regarding the qualification for the job, then we're zeroing in on Chip as plan A. If he stays put in Philly, the only other coach out there that matches what Blake says he's looking for is ...well, Butch.
