Tom Herman to interview at South Carolina next week

Somebody mentioned hiring Herman as a long-term thing. Obviously Miami has not historically been a long-term job, and I don't see that changing. If a coach does well here, other programs and the NFL will come knocking. As much as I don't buy that the program is as bad as many outsiders think, it's not Alabama or Texas. There will always be other college programs that can offer more, so if you want a long-term coach you better hope he does it out of love because the money and facilities won't keep him.

LMAO at Mario being a "splash hire." If you're using splash to describe the sound a day-after-drinking **** makes, then I agree, he'd be a splash hire.

South Carolina is over here interviewing Herman and we're sitting around with our thumbs up our asses. We can't move forward though, Aikeem Jolla hasn't had his chance to sit down with Korn Ferry yet.

How the **** do you know what "we" are doing? How do you know who's being interviewed or who the committee or the Kornfairy are considering?

When is South Carolina interviewing him? Possibly at some point maybe when Houston's season is over whenever that may be. That interview might take place some time next week or the week after whenever they actually confirm that an interview is gonna happen.

Thats what that article said.

Sounds like the raise isn't going to be enough to keep him, he's looking to move into a bigger program.

Did he sign any extension? I think Memphis is offering one to Fuente but I don't think either will stay at their current programs.

He didn't. In fact he said when he received the extension that he was flattered but that he was not going to do any contract negotiations until after to see it was over with. In other words, he gone

Si

We always seem to take forever to hire a coach. I expect choosing between Mario or the rest of the leftovers. Not promising at all.

Or leveraging as much as he can. South Carolina isn't going to offer a whole lot more. He's coaching in the SEC but he won't do any better than Spurrier. If he wants SEC wait for Georgia to open.

Day after drinking doesn't result in turds, usually diarrhea.

I hope we're not dragging our feet with this search and it's just quiet because nothing like this has been leaked on our end.

We're not the only fishermen on the bank.

Everyone's got a pole in the water for a coach.

It's called "competition.'

the early fishermen get the best fishing spots though

Unless the early fishermen sit on the bank before casting.

Lot of lines in the water. More lines than big fish.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for life

Based on Herman's college coaching career, going to Mizzou would seem to be the better fit, IMO.

At Mizzou, he still gets to recruit the Midwest and Texas, while making selective targets in the West, Northeast, and Southeast.

Still gets to stay in the SEC East, and gets to reconnect with the AD that hired him at Houston.

Unless he's making the decision for quality of life (weather, geographical location), I'm not sure why he would prefer South Carolina to Mizzou???

Unless ... South Carolina is paying a helluva lot more than Mizzou ...
