I'm not sure his stop there did anything for him. I guess it showed he could stay on the straight and narrow, but that's about it. He did post their best records ever though.

Kiffen took over a program that went 3-9 for 3 consecutive seasons (2014-2016).

Kiffen won 2 SUN Belt conference championships and 2 bowl games at FAU.

His teams averaged 40, 31, and 36 points per game. Before Kiffen, FAU never averaged more than 26 point per game since joining the SUN Belt conference in 2013. In fact, FAU averaged over 26 points in only 1 season not coached by Kiffen in the SUN Belt conference.

His record at FAU was:
2017 11-3
2018 5-7
2019 11-3

Stay with Saban another year and he would've likely skipped a level above FAU. Bama's coordinators land in larger jobs routinely.
