Todd Orlando

As for Orlando, would be SHOCKED if he didn't continue to hitch his wagon to Herman. They're both well-situated for a ride to the moon.

At Houston? It's possible, I guess, if they run the table as a P5 school.

Herman has his boys playing like complete savages. Fvck all the idiots who didn't want him.

Everyone wanted him. Even the Butch crowd had him as #2 . The guy just wasn't leaving Houston after one year.

There were TONS of people who were against him bc of his offense and bc he had only coached 10 games. I recall many of these folks wanted 65 year old Botch.

Even with my support of Butch, you know where Herman stood for me. Highest ceiling of any candidate - regardless of what happens in this game. Some risk, but outweighed by sheer potential.

Agree with the upside, disagree about the risk. I think Herman would have been a sure thing at Miami.

I just hope Richt is motivated again bc he is back calling plays

How does Charlie Strong feel this morning with Tom Herman and Chip Kelly available?

Anytime Charlie needs to put a smile on his face, all he has to do is look at his bank account; like Fraulden does.

Have you guys seen what Orlando has done as a Defensive Coordinator? In 2013 & 14 at Utah State he had top 20 defense's, and his first year at Houston finished the season with The 20th ranked Defense in the Nation...

Remember when he was Cristobal's DC at FIU?

Cristobal's last 2 coordinators at FIU were Orlando as DC, and Tim Cramsey as OC.
Cramsey hails from the Chip Kelly/New Hampshire tree and did pretty good work at Montana
State the last 3 years, developing a pretty good QB (Dakota Prukop) who is now transferring
to Oregon. Cramsey just took the Nevada OC job.
He may be worth watching these next few years.

Another coach on Cristobal's last FIU staff is Frank Ponce, who is now Appalachian State's co-OC.
Also, don't forget Alex Mirabal was the Oline coach.

Pretty good staff.

Have to at least offer the man right?

He's making around $500,000 a year right now at UH. If the rumors are true that we are willing to offer somewhere around 1million+ for a DC then make him an offer that doubles his salary and forces him to say no.....or forces UH to come up substantially to match.

Yeah, he might not be interested, or UH might match our offer but at least we gave it a shot.

New coordinator Todd Orlando set to make over $1 million with Cougars - Houston Chronicle
