Today would be a good day to announce an OC

There's a reason we haven't announced the OC yet. It's because he's either coaching in tonight's game, the NFL playoffs, or we are still working out numbers/staffing for whoever has verbally accepted. I believe Manny said we would have the OC by this Thursday.

Probably not on NFL playoff situation, since if he can't announce that yet, he still won't have it announced by Thursday. Looks like the Clemson Co-OC may be the situation here, or possibly just hasn't finalized negotiations with another candidate, or worst case, still hasn't found his man... but I'm hoping we'll know by Wed am.

Announcing the OC today would just be a blip on the ESPN update bar. Having said that, it will be a blip on their update bar if they announce it any other day.

I think it could be discussed pre game. Cfb would need to take notice if Miami were to move into a modern offensive scheme. Not saying it would be a big topic, but you could argue it relates because we’re in the ACC and can be matched up with Clemson for future ACC championship games if we just had a good offense.

Unless they announce it’s Jeff Scott, it’ll get a tiny scroll on the bottom line .

Even if it is a “splash hire”, I don’t think it will get much notice other than on the ESPN bottom line during the game. Not many people watching us, or worried about or coaching staff other than us.

Herbstreit is pretty fair in his remarks but .... all of the commentators are tired (rightly so) of the "Miami's Back" storyline, only to have it proven untrue again and again. We can't be "back" until we have an elite QB. That's the gauge I now use.
