To the tape watchers, regarding OL?

I’m waiting for the OL gurus to comment on the rep where FAMU tackle pushed Cantwells **** in. he got em back on another rep but still. He must be not 100% nothing else makes sense
Wym nothing else makes sense? He lost a rep and will lose more like every other olineman in the country

Consistency, bend, footwork, and health, hopefully they improve as the season goes along.

I mentioned this in another thread. Slow footed and with minimal push last night. Hard to be those things as a 5 star going against a bad team. Hes slow and not terribly physical. And on a screen pass when he went out in space, he was absolutely lost. Real weak spot of the OL

Wasn’t impressed. I know he’s just working his way back in to things but it was a rough night. He’s nowhere near where he needs to be to get significant playing time. He’s going to need more time
He looks terrible out there. Us taking that juco tackle late makes sense we have no depth at tackle.

What in the world happened from Congdon's camp vibe to the first game? Did he get hurt? Almost all of the other narratives seem accurate. Mallory has shown what was claimed he showed in camp. JJ Dunnigan has done it (though that's about as obvious a projection as one can make). Blount's narrative is aligned to his camp vibe. Congdon is like 3 levels away from the "near starter" and contributor described. Heck, he got 3rd team snaps in the first game. Confusing.

I agree it’s very odd and I just posted this in the other thread but he needs to grow up fast at guard because he’s our only prayer of replacing SJ at one of the guard spots.

he played RT primarily last night. Is that because Ervin and Minaya seem to be out? He needs a lot of snaps at guard in mop up and Cantwell needs a lot of snaps at tackle in mop up

Glad we have Mirabol and Cristobol developing our OL. OL requires more coaching and development than other position groups IMHO. I trust our coaches to get it right.

From watching the game live, it’s seems that we are building this offensive line around our tackles. Samson and McCoy are our best OLs by far at this point in the early season, and the interior of the OL is a work in progress. Samson might play himself into a high draft pick and McCoy looks like an NFL prospect as well.

Cantwell’s OL mechanics are poor but he might be the most talented OL on the roster . The problem is that mechanics, which can be developed, are more important than natural talent. If we didn’t have Mirabol and Cristobal coaching him, I would say he isn’t ready. However, I expect him to continue to grow if he dedicates himself and listens to the best OL coaches in football.
