You are delusional.

We can't be put any lower than #7 in the rankings on Tuesday because Notre Dame is #8 .

Beat Clemson -- we move up 1 spot to #6 .

Bama beats Georgia and Auburn -- we move up 2 spots to #4 .

Simple as that. Now, if Bama loses, then we're in trouble on that front.

But.....

Oklahoma could still lose to TCU.

Wisconsin could lose to Taint, or Taint could beat Wisconsin, which makes me nervous because they could slide in over us, but I still don't think that's possible if we beat Clemson.

Please stop pedaling the narrative that we are working against a biased committee. If we beat Clemson and get a little bit of help, we're in.

Plain and simple.

I'm as disappointed as anyone by today's result, but let's move on to Clemson. I expect us to play up to our competition and give them a game. I'll be there cheering my nuts off, so let's get the win and hope a few things fall in our favor.

I agree. We still control our own fate, but we have to beat Clemson first. If we do, we are in. An ACC champ with one loss and wins over two top 10 teams (ND and Clemson) and VT gets a spot.

Agreed. Let's go smack the Tigers now.

If Bama loses, Clemson likely moves to #1 . No way a win vs #1 keeps us out.

Beat clemson and we are in. This loss could be a blessing in disguise because a 1 loss Miami team who didn't win ACC likely wasn't getting in.

This was our best chance at getting in w 1 loss.

Hey, Nixed, you keep downvoting me, so tell me how I'm wrong? Seriously. I'm looking for a coherent argument.

bro i don't think your reasoning is necessarily wrong, I think the entire premise of worrying about the playoffs is wrong. This team has some serious issues with consistency, offensive line, QB play, etc. Our defense basically completely bailed us out in like 7 out of 11 games this season. I get super negative voted when I pointed out in the other thread that we're like, 3 big, clutch plays away (FSU, GT, UNC, possibly syracuse) from being a 4 loss team instead of a 1 loss team. People don't wanna hear it, but it's the truth. We've ridden on the edge the entire season. We got up and played Virginia Tech well behind the strength of home field advantage, and Notre Dame basically gave us the game on a silver platter (if you read up on HurricaneVision's film review of that game he mentions many plays where Wimbush basically just completely **** the bed with horrible passes while not under pressure, which is what caused us to generate turnovers and build a huge lead).

Clemson is gonna be a serious challenge.

Let's say we somehow beat #2 clemson in a close game. I wouldn't be surprised if the Committee sees us and basically pulls some bull**** like "nah we'll put 2 loss georgia ahead of 'em." Not because they're inherently biased, but because they just don't think we LOOK good enough compared to a Georgia that also has 1 loss to an auburn team and 1 loss to Bama.

I don't THINK they'd put a 2 loss georgia in over a Canes ACC Championship team, but I do think it could possibly happen.

The loss to Pitt might be the worst loss that any team with a shot at the playoff has. Sure you could argue Clemson to Syracuse, but either way it's close. Also, one of the committee's knocks against us was we hadn't beaten anyone good on the road and, while Pitt isn't good, today certainly doesn't help that notion.

Maybe not a two loss GA team...but they definitely will put *** and his two loss OSU team in and shut out the ACC.

We need Clemson to win tomorrow.

I think it's a 95% we are in if we beat Clempsun.

Either way....give me the ACC ship!!!!!
