To all the FSU fans complaining about the illegal forward pass penalty...

They can cry all they want, when he threw the 2nd TD pass, he was beyond the line of scrimmage and hence, illegal fwd pass

Unfortunately close only matters in certain situations.
you're right.. but the poster stated that it was "obvious " which is wasn't . great play call and I'm sure we will see it again.. Glad it went they way it did.. learning process with no harm.

Seems like the play call stood, so yea it was obvious

It makes it better that it was probably a forward pass. I want them to think about that **** every day for a year the way we had to think about blocked XPs and tipped passes being caught for Tds

That is the greatest part of many of our wins against FSU. Heck it will be on bowden’s Tombstone “he played Miami”. To bad this one will not cost them another NC. They should be worried about the TV announcer making fun of thier Dora the Explorer purse.

A lateral doesn't have to be backwards. It can be parallel.
Since there are no perfect parallel passes, it actually has to be backwards, even if it's 1/100th of an inch, and it looks parallel. There will never be a way to prove a pass was perfectly parallel, and that is why you make darn sure you throw the ball backwards. Frenchie didn't do a good enough job of this.

lol. Obvious forward pass. Their punter should be kicked out of their university. That was not a football play.
there was nothing obvious about that call. it was **** close............ learn how to draw a line

I love the line ESPN drew. It was a yard and a half wide across the field. When you draw it like that and the ball "stays on the line" of course it's going to look like a lateral. There's a yard and a half to play with.

The announcers said that because there was a penalty called on the play it was not reviewable. Correct???

Frenchie ***** his arm back and the ball is at the 45 then goes forward to make the throw. The WR takes a step back to make it look close but it really is not.

We got lucky on that one. FSU - going back 30 years or more - has always used halfback passes, triple reverses, etc. against us. Regardless of who was coaching them. That punt return with no fair catch almost worked twice against us. VaTech game changed on a lineman downfield call when they had successfully burned ND with a halfback pass. How come we don't have any creative plays?? Fumblerooski anyone?
