It’s pretty cool to see the how quickly Manny is changing the image of the program. Not only can you already see it in less than a month with recruits and transfers but the coaches are legit having fun as well.
I think it will translate to the field bc he’s improved the D every year he was here but the energy alone is going to be fun to rally behind.

I am cautiously hopeful. Unfortunately, too many misses over the last 10+ years.

Funny thing to me is, I wonder what the lines on an NCAA violation looks like, having meetings with celebrities for recruits. Someone used the text in a tweet "you'll never know who you run into..." I could totally see arranging for a celebrity to meet recruits being an NCAA violation (and, of course, for Miami). But they're not tapping phones. So... hey... what a coincidence, right?

Then you start to think about all the people recruits might just happen to "run into" on their visit to Miami.

Maybe JLo can be our new recruiting ace?

With the full expectation of negs, I honestly think the difference here is Blake James. Paul Dee wasn't a great AD. He made one good/lucky hire. Hocutt and Eichorst (does anyone even remember him being at Miami?) had a foot out the door before they showed up. Meanwhile, the administration wanted a clean and tidy football program given all the Coker and Shapiro madness. I was ****ed with James not firing Golden at the end of year four. But he came through and at least got MONEY for a real coaching staff. And I'm not crazy about all the "national search" talk. But in both cases, James knew who he wanted and got him. One at a WAY higher price than we've ever paid for a coach and another with a buyout. When is the last time we paid a buyout? Golden?

And then there was the Turnover Chain, which would NEVER have happened under Hocutt or Eichorst (or, possibly, Shalalalala). On top of that, there's the IPF, and ALL THE MONEY spent that we don't talk about. Does anyone remember the team didn't have a nutritionist before James? Or a sports psychologist? James' job is to secure the money that that the football program needs, and he's honestly the first AD we've really ever had that's been able to do that (of course given the recruiting landscape is different in Miami than in the early 80's).

I think what sets Diaz apart from Coker and Shannon (and of course, Golden) is swagger. You listen to the man speak and he commands your attention. He's smart, he's to the point, he's not wishy-washy, and there's not a ton of coach-speak. Be real and on your game and you might recruit SFL well.

You said it. If anyone is going to find out where those lines are, it’s gonna be us

Agree 100%
Looks like we are finally playing to win w a young aggressive coach and we are spending $ to support him w higher paid OC and the addition of some “analysts”....I’m excited to see how this investment pays off for UM

I am ABSOLUTELY ******* BAFFLED I just posted something positive about Blake James and the first two reactions were positive.

Probably time for me to go out on a high note and quit CIS.

Should I be absent, please start ridiculous rumors about bear attacks and swine flu.

You give Blake James too much credit. That buyout stat woulda been NOW had Richt not finally showed he was a true Christian and walk away from more than 20 mil.

1) I don't get what you're saying.

2) Regardless of what you're saying, it's a smaller part of a bigger picture.

Who gets the credit? Julio Frenk, who could give two ***** about football and doesn't involve himself in the athletic department?
