TNM: We're 4-4 but Keyshaun Sniff is focused on his dance routine

The issue is that Christopher Stock chose to title his article this—when there were other pieces more newsworthy that were discussed. This headline is there to put this fan base at odds; some saying "let the kids be kids" while other says "save the dancing for 8-0 not 4-4" and both sides are technically correct.

Years back there were a handful of Canes writers and maybe 1-2 UM-themed websites. Now there are a dozen sites, blogs, social media accounts, Twitter handles and everyone wants to report, break news and fill their feed with some type of content. It's information overload and way too many cooks in this small kitchen.

This article is straight-up click-bait—intended to be shared on a site like this, knowing it would cause dissent and get fans talking / get the article "trending" in the Canes community.

If you read the piece, it's really an article on TVD—Smith speaking about what the quarterback has done the past few weeks, his strengths, his style, his moxie—and Lashlee chimes in with some quotes, as well.

Article headline literally should've been; "Smith & Lashlee See Van Dyke Growing Into Veteran Quarterback In Real Time" or something to that effect.

Instead, "sMiTH's goNNa dO tiKToK daNcE iN eNDzOnE iF hE sCOreS oN sATurDaY!!!!" — with the desired effect of getting folks riled up.

Basic.
Thank you for this breakdown. I happily read your post before clicking the link and now I won't do it. Honestly, had I gotten to this thread earlier, I probably would have edited the OP to remove the link as clickbait. When we self-policing trash "journalism," we are all better off.

I would like to see Smith get more targets but it is hard to not go Rambo’s way. He is having a great year. Talk about ignoring the noise.

That’s how we roll now….Lube up for top 10 opponents, then let loose the swag for unranked, Pop Warner teams. #TNm

You guys are asking players to take on the responsibility of coaches & blaming players for coaches failures.

Celebration is apart of the game, always been & always will be. You guys are essentially upset that players would want to celebrate despite us having a losing season, but if you understand the difficulty of the game you know why they celebrate.

The season is not on the players, the coaches have failed them & the recent wins they’ve had have been in spite of the coaching staff & not because of them.

What you guys want is a team full of kids who just play hard & keep quiet, I guess if they were cyborgs or if this were the 1950’s yall would have a point, but again the anger is misdirected.

The players are giving their all & playing the best they can while being lead by an incompetent & inept Head Coach, so if they celebrate when they win it’s because they know how hard it was for them to get to that point.

At this point in the season everybody’s back is against the wall, it’s Them against the world, so they’re going to rally around each other & play for each other, which means when things go well they’re going to be happy about it because their way is what’s working. When they were doing it the other way, they were losing.

The fans don’t dictate to players how the players feel, you guys may hate when they celebrate or hate when they show any emotion at all, but they don’t give AF what yall think, they’re not playing for yall.
Drops mic, exit stage left…

True, but why talk about it? Just be about it bro. Let your game speak for itself.

I don't remember the greats saying **** like this.
It just shows where these kids heads are.

And we're 4-4 dude! Like put a lid on it until you've proven it on the field. And don't put a target on yourself. Smh

Michael Irvin didn’t have Twitter

Keyshawn Smith is the most talented WR on the roster & plays hard every snap.

There’s nothing wrong with him having fun, you’re way off the mark here OP.
I will also add that K. Smith is progressing very nicely. We should have an excellent WR corps next year.

today, Michael Irvin would have had The Playmaker Show. But not some podcast, it would have been a TV show or something along those lines. Dude was a rock star playing football…lol. The more we see Key Smith dance, it means more TDs for him. Dance away KS🙌
