I try to stay positive but these kind of headlines really **** me off! 🤬

WR Key'Shawn Smith has celebration ready for next TD

He's a college kid and he has been making plays. If he scores, he can dance the Lambada in the end zone as long as he doesn't draw a flag. Why would this bother anyone?

True, but why talk about it? Just be about it bro. Let your game speak for itself.

I don't remember the greats saying **** like this.
It just shows where these kids heads are.

And we're 4-4 dude! Like put a lid on it until you've proven it on the field. And don't put a target on yourself. Smh

Did not have the social media throwing everything out to the world in most of our best years so how would you know this.

The issue is that Christopher Stock chose to title his article this—when there were other pieces more newsworthy that were discussed. This headline is there to put this fan base at odds; some saying "let the kids be kids" while other says "save the dancing for 8-0 not 4-4" and both sides are technically correct.

Years back there were a handful of Canes writers and maybe 1-2 UM-themed websites. Now there are a dozen sites, blogs, social media accounts, Twitter handles and everyone wants to report, break news and fill their feed with some type of content. It's information overload and way too many cooks in this small kitchen.

This article is straight-up click-bait—intended to be shared on a site like this, knowing it would cause dissent and get fans talking / get the article "trending" in the Canes community.

If you read the piece, it's really an article on TVD—Smith speaking about what the quarterback has done the past few weeks, his strengths, his style, his moxie—and Lashlee chimes in with some quotes, as well.

Article headline literally should've been; "Smith & Lashlee See Van Dyke Growing Into Veteran Quarterback In Real Time" or something to that effect.

Instead, "sMiTH's goNNa dO tiKToK daNcE iN eNDzOnE iF hE sCOreS oN sATurDaY!!!!" — with the desired effect of getting folks riled up.

Basic.

I don't recall any podcasts with Eddie Brown/Michael Irvin/Brian Blades when they were at UM.

From the article, "This whole week I've been juiced up and bringing the juice to practice, have got to bring the energy," Smith said. "I want another (touchdown)."

That’s the kind of guys we want on the team. We’re all bummed we’re 4-4 and I guarantee you those kids are too. That’s not why they went to UM.

But in life there are times where you’ve got to persevere through adversity and being a little mopey ***** and complaining about where you are isn’t going to help at all. All you can do is control what you do today. Glad to see we’ve got a young talented kid who is bringing that positivity and energy to practice
