LSU offense was on a different level than the rest of the field, that season. Their defense was good, but no-where near what we had. I would have loved to see Chase and Jefferson match up against Mo, Rolle, Buchanon, Reed, Rumph...sorry but that offense never saw a defense like UM had. DJ Williams, Vilma...and that D-Line though! Joseph, McDougle, Williams, Walters, WIlfork getting burn....Burrow would have to play **** trying to get the ball out.

If you didn't see them play, you wouldnt understand, all the college football cucks out there in their 20's would argue LSU all day, but sorry bruh, you just dont know.

Stop it...."COULD" have 2 HOF WRs....I seriously doubt that...and Burrow ain't going to any HOF....That LSU team almost, and should have lost to an unranked Auburn team (Steele's Defense) that lost 5 games, what would those WRs have done against UMs 2001 secondary??....Jeff Thomas made LSUs DBs look so-so.....Andre and Shockey would have torn their Azzes up....
C’mon man. Do you watch the NFL? Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson are both top 5 nfl receivers in the league right now. I’ll say it JJ and Chase eat Phillip buchannon and Rumph for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ed reed is always the ex factor but Miami never played against a team that loaded.

Don’t talk about them almost losing to Auburn. Do you you not remember BC? lol we almost blew it before the goat made one of the greatest plays of all time.

LSU would score and so would Miami. I never said Miami would lose. I said it’d be a dog fight.

If that Miami team in 2008 had any semblance of an offense, they probably lose that one as well. The score was like 10-3 at the start of the 4th qtr I believe.

Yup. There was also a controversial fourth quarter pass from Tebow to Carl Moore. Can't remember if he pushed off or it should've been a non-catch—but it was a 28-yard pick-up on 3rd-and-9 where an incompletion would've had them punting. Instead, 1st-and-Goal from the 5-yard line in a 9-3 football game at the time.

Oh I know... but even in meaningless polls I hate the fact that LSU 2019 is even close to 2001 UM.

They've done this every year the past decade—any team that recently won is the new wanna-be GOAT and they pit it against 2001 Miami in some meaningless poll like this.

2004 USC is better than 2019 LSU, as well. Should've been Miami vs USC in this round. How are the Trojans a #2 and the Gators a #1 in the other bracket. Laughable.

No....he was out of bounds...

How's the Gator #1 losing to an unranked Ole Miss team??

The 2001 Canes RB’s, TE’s, OL’s & our entire Defense sh*ts on LSU’s 2019 team.

The only debatable position is QB, but literally the rest of the entire roster Miami is better.

I’m the least Homer fan on here & this ain’t even close IMO, LSU 2019 team doesn’t have a single defender that can even compete with Ed Reed, Sean Taylor & Antrel Rolle, not to mention DJ Williams & Jon Vilma.
2004 usc should be number 2

Everybody wants to talk about LSU’s passing attack and how they scored so many points. Ok that’s great, but you really think they could stop Miami? Let’s talk about that O line and back field for a second. They could’ve ran for 300+ and Burrow would have the ball for 20 minutes at best. He makes one mistake and the game is over.

Everybody just assumes bc the offenses today are high flying, that they could simply outscore the older teams. News flash, you need the ball to score points. An elite running game and an elite defense, will always be timeless.

That LSU team was really just average on defense and that’s the end of the whole story.

They may have scored more points but they were also still going no huddle and throwing it around in the fourth quarter against a lot of teams. Miami could have ran it up against Troy and Temple but they emptied their bench early and milked the clock most of the second half. Miami saved their blowouts for teams that were nationally ranked. Nebraska, FSU, Washington and Syracuse all ended the season ranked in the top 20 and Miami absolutely crushed all of them. Boston College and Virginia Tech were the only close games and both those teams also finished the season in the top 25.

This isn’t even a discussion

****, we didn’t even blow out Nebraska like we could’ve. We took our foot off the gas by 100 in the 2nd half. We easily could’ve scored 56-60 that game.

I think some of those teams shouldnt even be in the bracket. Funny how they put us on the side of the bracket with 2004 USC because they know LSU is not beating that USC team IMO. They pretty much gave LSU the easy road to playing us and now the SEC homers are piling up to vote them as the GOAT. LOL.

The longer time goes on the more people will diminish that 2001 team. It is what it is. The people who know, know how great that team was and thats all that matters. Lets see in 10 years how this LSU team stacks up against ours NFL wise too. Too early to buy the hype with Burrow, Chase and Jefferson. Way too early.

Those two Wr's would be a problem, but the LSU run game would be a non-factor. The pressure that Burrow would have to endure would be the difference maker, and like you said...Burrow isnt just putting it up in the air with ER20 lurking.

I would take Miami 48-27 over LSU in that game
