Time to go after Daniel Gresham again

Here is the article about U of L cutting him loose

http://kentuckysports.co/daniel-gresham-3-star-rb-decommits-louisville/

Apparently they Petrino's staff cut gresham loose in to make room to offer 2014 RB D'andre Ferby who was committed to them at WKU. Hmmmm so let me get this right UM wanted Gresham badly an then he commits to U of L and then Petrino who is an OFFENSIVE GURU and knows talent take the HC job at U of L, evaluates Strong's commits and decides to cut Gresham loose in favor of Ferby. An to think there were several posters on here that said Ferby isn't that good. Also apparently the U of L's that follow recruiting are thrilled about bringing in the kid that ran all over the Kentucky's #1 high school team on Espn.

An FYI Ferby would love a UM offer to play with his friend Corn Elder, he has been saying he would love to play with Elder again. An now if not with him on the same team at least he could be in the same league. So this should get interesting over the next few weeks.

Go Canes

Like I said in that previous thread: Ferby is being recruited as a LB not a RB. Get over it, you babbling ******

I watch that game Ferby played in on national TV. I thought he was a poor mans Gus Edwards....I know my eyes didn't deceive me even though he had a big game I wasn't impressed by him...... for one he is too slow.

Ferby isn't good he ran over a garbage trinity team worst team they have had in a decade

The best football player and basketball player for the past 3 years in Tennessee is now a cornerback for us.
Just saying being great in Tennessee might equate to being great in Nevada ala Grimble.

Fort Worth-based Daniel Gresham, rated the nation’s 38th-best running back by rivals.com, was told by Louisville’s new coaching staff on Sunday night that he’s not in their plans. Gresham has visited UM and was interested in the Canes before committing to Louisville.

His coach said Monday that he would again be interested in UM (along with Arkansas and Texas) if Miami reaches out.

they have reached out i think because he recently started following james coley and golden on twitter and vice versa.

We need to be all over this kid, would be the perfect back to compliment Yearby and Duke.

Kid is a bowling ball with moves, speed and great balance, I don't care what comp he was playing.

If loosing Powell in this class meant getting Gresham, then I'm 100% all for that.

We need a RB like this and in a year or 2 will take over as starting FB.

This kid should be a take IMO. His future is more likely at FB. We dont have much to replace Hagens with. Tucker is all we really have. Although we dont use the FB that much, having a kid this fast and big, gives you much more options on using him in short yardage, and maybe even getting him more touches as a normal RB on occassion. I know there are people not that high on him, but he's **** fast, has decent moves, has been pretty productive, and is built like a tank. Worst case he can be a blocking FB for us. And its not like we have SO much depth at RB that we couldnt at least start him out there as a Frosh, and later move him to FB if we pick up some better RBs next year.

Well Texas don't want him so someone please tweet this to him (btw I'm against tweeting to recruits).

BUT MIAMI FANS ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT ARE MEAN

I don't think anyone ever said that.

What's been said is that negative attacks (especially personal attacks) on message boards, twitter, facebook, etc, all DO have an effect on a kid's impression of a school and its fan base.

24/7 crystal ball has it 87% to UM, FWIW.

I might be crazy, but I think that was based on predictions that were mostly made last summer. He was heavily thought to be going to UM before he ended up at UL, but I dont think most of their people changed their predictions after that.

Having both him and Edwards would be nice. Give them both some playing time behind Duke and Yearby next year. The one that shows better running ability, develop into a big change-of-pace RB for the following year, the one that blocks better, bulk up a bit and turn into our FB the following year.

This kid is NOT a FB, in my opinion. He's a big RB ala, Michael Bush, who crushed us and the rest of college football while at Louisville or Jerome Bettis. Just because a guy is big, it doesn't mean he can't be a great RB. This is exactly the type of big back that we've been missing. Dude runs people over with reckless abandon. Hope we can land him.

Having a jumbo package of Gresham and Edwards in the backfield together would be interesting, then you could have a speed package with Duke and Yearby and mix it up.

I like Edwards, but for a big back he runs too high and kinda runs more like a smaller back.

Gresham on the other hand is a bowling ball/tank type RB/FB at 5'10 235(w/ 4.6 speed) that can run low and behind his pads and isn't afraid of contact. We have been missing a RB that can power it in on the goal line and short yardage, I think this is our guy.

This kid is well spoken and has always kept Miami in the back of his mind an now just needs to pull the trigger for UM. Bringing him into the fold would do wonders for the running game but UM needs an EE to fill a roster spot or loose it.
