Time to close down Blockbuster Richteo....

@k9cane

This is year 3 of the Rick regime and we don't even have a functional offense. This isn't even an exaggeration based on frustration. Seriously this offense can barely function. None of the QB's have developed. The offensive line may be the worst its been since Rick took over. We have talent everywhere at the skill positions yet this offense can do nothing.

Also why all the 4th down gambles? We have the best defense in the nation and tbis imbecile calls for an onside kick? Pulling Perry that early? I can't fathom what this clown could be thinking. He has all this skill talent at his disposal yet he insists on completely neutralizing his talent and speed advantage by slowing the game to a crawl. He has weapons galore on the outside yet he continuously runs into stacked 8-9 man fronts putting his QB in 3rd and long situations. Rick isn't just an imbecile. He's an imbecile and a coward! That's a terrible combination. I could go on and on but what's the use?

I just finished watching Bears v. Dolphins. U know what I loved about Gase did? After Drake made a mistake that could’ve cost them the game, he went back to the young running back to assure him of his faith. The result? Drake delivered, eager to redeem himself.

Richt will do well to share notes w Gase.

You forgot to mention one rather important thing: Canes fans mocked Osborne for sticking with that option offense. Brutally mocked and ridiculed him. If the internet had been prominent in that era the mockery would have far exceeded anything from here and now regarding Richt or anyone else.

When Osborne after the '88 and especially the '91 Orange Bowl losses to Miami stood in that press room and matter of factly said there was nothing wrong with his offense, that it could win national championships as long as other areas of the roster were fortified and specially with more athleticism and quickness, the local Miami radio sports talk shows erupted with laughter and derision. I was visiting Miami for the holidays and attended both of those games. When I called one of those talk shows a couple of days after the game and agreed with Osborne's comments, Hank Goldberg listened briefly and then cut me off so he could spend the next 5 minutes ridiculing myself and anyone who agreed with the moronic notion than an option offense could still win a national championship in that era.

And there really should have been an additional Nebraska national championship in that stretch, minus the disgracefully slanted officiating in the '93 Orange Bowl title game against Florida State.

Good points.

Osborne also had a great option QB in Tommy Frazier, and a great RB in Lawrence Phillips. Stud OL. He adapted the defense to the ‘modern game’ and had a great run. Could have 3X NCs. His 1995 undefeated team was amazing. I’ve never enjoyed watch UF lose so much (other than to Miami).
