Time to close down Blockbuster Richteo....

When I saw us running 4 verticals on that Harley interception I wanted to gouge my eyes. No imagination, no easy throws, just basic backyard garbage. If his son had a pair or anyone on the offensive side of the ball I’d think they’d tell Richt we gotta get more creative on O. Teams with less talent and garbage lines do it every week. There’s no motion, no game planning to get our more talented players the ball. When he made that dumb*** remark about 30 year old plays working I just shook my head. This ain’t FSU in the 90s Richt you gotta adapt with the times. Sadly I highly doubt he will or has the self awareness to realize changes need to be made, namely himself as OC.

Pulling Perry...dumb dumb dumb, Malik is not the future so why even put him in??? Let Perry take his lumps now or how about giving him some easy throws to start his first road game.

I feel like a it’s been groundhog day since the Coker regime. Bad hire after bad hire. Thought Richt would be different but same old same old. He’s gotta get his head out his *** and hire an OC or we are going nowhere fast.

Lastly I feel for the D ... force 3 turnovers and hold a team to 200 yards offense and still lose the game. Oh and Tito you are an absolute idiot for that personal foul call at the end, give Nesta his reps the rest of the year.

this is what happens when you hire a guy on the back 9 and engaged in nepotism. This offense and its approach are painful to watch

Nepotism is the biggest way to ***** yourself as a coach. It pains me to say this but Fat Al could easily still be our coach if he hired a competent DC. Imagine this Diaz defense with a Jedd Fisch offense. Nepotism ultimately cost Bowden his job and almost cost Urban Liar's.

This is his offense and - yeah, I'll say it again, it's Blockbuster Video in a Netflix world. This is a Beta offense, or maybe Laser Disc. Richt Im sure has a lot of bibles laying around but his offense doesn't have a prayer”

This is gold lol

The ****itivity had layers last night. The sinking feeling I’m left with, as many on here are, is that we are stuck, and there seems no way out, given the HC stubbornness and how locked in he is. How does an Ol’ Dawg learn new tricks?

OK, back from the fights I had to be ringside but I was able to see most of the game and before I left the hotel I was able to participate in the gameday thread and I remarked how this was looking a lot like the Pitt game from last year. Early turnovers wasted, bad offense, etc, terrible loss. Ray Charles with glaucoma could see this coming.

But I really do think Richt may have corched the worst game Ive seen at UM. From pulling Perry for Rosier(who is what he is and has no future) to the onside kick with 3 timeouts in his back pocket and the 4th down calls.

Then there is the offense - yeah, so is it just about 'execution' and having the 95 Dallas Cowboys offensive line? It's not just broken, it's dated

Richt is a good coach, the real problem is that he's past his prime and that was my concern from the beginning and nepotism plagues this staff. Yeah, I said it. It is what it is and nothing will change significantly. This is his offense and - yeah, I'll say it again, it's Blockbuster Video in a Netflix world. This is a Beta offense, or maybe Laser Disc. Richt Im sure has a lot of bibles laying around but his offense doesn't have a prayer

It's too bad this offense isn't just pretty good because this defense is really good and they dont have nearly enough opportunities in meaningful games to play from ahead and really create havoc. Instead they are counted to basically create miracles and win games by themselves. They're good by me, I'll continue to enjoy watching this unit

But yeah, not much more to say, Ill still keep supporting the program, watching games intently(yeah Im a glutton) but I know what to expect from a Richt coached program - letdowns

Anyways, lets go Canes

The onisde kick was the dumbest coaching decision i have ever seen.

uga fans told us this I said he was dog **** after wisky, I said after Lsu. We will be 8-4 and Richt will blame it on youth. Then next year we will be 10-2 and or 9-3. Then the year after back to 8-4. Richt is not good enough to make this team into world beaters.

this will be like being stuck in purgatory....

I 1000% agree nothing we can do but support and hope he hires someone else to coordinate bc the fans can and will turn on him the rest of the season. Recruiting may end terribly. Richt does not want that again. You can see that look on his face. He knows

jw, do you really think he knows? I really have my doubts. Many a narcissistic individual has gone down with their beliefs

It's another failure by UM and it's alleged, "search committee."

They saw the name, and he had them at hello.

No regard whatsoever for what he planned to do with the program.

Sure, he wanted to call the plays, but did any of the football brains in the room actually hear a plan?

Clearly, the answer was no, a resounding no

If you were intent on hiring Richt to be the face of AD, which is what the FB coach is at UM, it absolutely the time to transition him to the CEO type.

Richt is Tom Osborne.

Osborne kept his option offense but finally moved to the smaller, faster defense that made Jimmy Johnson famous. And that regularly beat Osborne in big games. Result? The NCs that eluded Dr. Tom for 20 years. Back-to-back.

All Richt needs to do is admit his playcalling is stale. Hire a QB whisperer OC and playcaller.

You forgot to mention one rather important thing: Canes fans mocked Osborne for sticking with that option offense. Brutally mocked and ridiculed him. If the internet had been prominent in that era the mockery would have far exceeded anything from here and now regarding Richt or anyone else.

When Osborne after the '88 and especially the '91 Orange Bowl losses to Miami stood in that press room and matter of factly said there was nothing wrong with his offense, that it could win national championships as long as other areas of the roster were fortified and specially with more athleticism and quickness, the local Miami radio sports talk shows erupted with laughter and derision. I was visiting Miami for the holidays and attended both of those games. When I called one of those talk shows a couple of days after the game and agreed with Osborne's comments, Hank Goldberg listened briefly and then cut me off so he could spend the next 5 minutes ridiculing myself and anyone who agreed with the moronic notion than an option offense could still win a national championship in that era.

And there really should have been an additional Nebraska national championship in that stretch, minus the disgracefully slanted officiating in the '93 Orange Bowl title game against Florida State.

After a decade and a half of chasing Richt, putting up with Coker, Golden and Shannon, and the man finally falls in your lap? Don't think we had a lot of leverage to negotiate with him. I still don't think we do. It's going to be on Richt if he wants to give up play calling, I can't see Blake forcing his hand this year anyway.
