Tight End Depth is Looking Good

It is painful watching that slow delivery and looping ball from Evan.

Don't say that here - there's a faction of people who think the guy's arm strength has improved dramatically. A few months ago I even had someone post HS highlights to prove that he had zip on the ball; although there really wasn't anything there.

What screen name does AR post under?

/ Richards noted he would feel confident in any quarterback UM named. Shirreffs, a lightly recruited player in 2015, impressed Richards with “his passion for the game.” Richards also said Shirreffs doesn’t have trouble throwing 50 yards downfield, if asked.

“He can throw the ball,” Richards said. Shirreffs, listed at 6-5 and 216 pounds, said this week his arm strength has improved in part because he put on “about 25 pounds” since arriving on campus.

Steve Walsh, Dorsey, Danny Wuerfell, Charlie Ward, Josh Heupel, and countless other weak armed QB in NCAA (not NFL) who won big, say hi. Not saying Evan is the man to do it, but this mentality that you need a strong arm QB to win in college is ridiculous. Does it help? Absolutely. Is it preferable? Naturally. But in college football, not pro football, it is not as needed. Smart decisions, get the ball in the playmakers hands, don't ***** it up, are the most important aspects for a QB in college football.

Another set of videos I can't tell crap from. I couldn't tell if Optimus Prime was throwing the ball.

But some *** wipe could tell Evans mechanics and how tight the spiral was. Truly amazing.

Arm strength is so overrated in college , especially with the hash marks. Some of these homos just need something to complain about. If he's smart and accurate we'd be just fine. IMO we'd be ok with any of the three.

The #1 "get hype" song of all time!

Dumb question, but don't I remember that last year they stopped playing music at practice to improve focus? I guess that was a one year thing? Not criticizing as I don't care either way, just honestly curious as this isn't something I'd read mentioned at all since last year.

But all of those guys had a fairly quick release. A slow release (regardless of arm strength) is problematic.

Kosar was no rifle either. Heck he threw sidearm a lot. The thing about Steve, Ken and Bernie was they made up for the lack of arm with being overly strong elsewhere. Problem is that having a weak arm does not mean you are smarter than the average bear, more accurate, have quick release or ice water in your veins, or excel in decision making, or can make up for deficient coaching or play calling. Our two best QBs, Jim and Vinny, did not bring home the prize despite being mobile, tough and blessed with very big arms. Personally, I want the guy who wins the NC for us, whatever he looks like or how he throws. Mark needs to find THAT GUY.

Also don't compare Ken Dorsey to Evans in any way... Dorsey was an elite HS QB and we all know what he did here at UM.

The only thing Dorsey and Sherriffs have in common is that they are both white and skinny.

Te depth is so bad our second string is a walk on from new mexico

OL depth is so bad our first two players off the bench are true freshmen.
They are elite players at their positions. I don't think u realize how bad walking are at the University of miami. Comparing Malik curry to navaighn Donaldson is idiotic, and you might need your posting privileges revoked for a day or two. Our ol depth is so bad that last year starters are running away from competition. We essentially have one and a half division 1 players at te untIL the spring

You're better than this.

Gaynor and Herbert are who I was referring to. When your top two backups just got here a few hours ago you're in a bad spot. Not nearly as bad as TE, which was the point of my original post that was made in jest, which should've been obvious to anyone who watched them since the TEs after Herndon look awful in those videos.

Gaynor and Herbert are still better than the guys we have at te. To be honest if I was richt I would have found a way to keep Jovani haskins and his weed edibles on the roster. Michael Irving Jr looks to not be in shape as of yet, Polen is miles away and even as a blocker. Malik Curry seems to be out playing them. Herndon can not get hurt or were in trouble.
