Tears Tide Tears

I married a single mom, her son was 22 months old when we married. Took them out of the worst neighborhood in Pensacola (Montclair) and moved them to one of the nicest. Raised him as my own. Exactly 14 days after his 18th birthday they both split. NEVER marry a single mother or raise someone else's kid
I’m also just seeing this now…holy **** dude, I am so very sorry! You certainly didn’t deserve that, and I will never understand how human beings can treat one another like that.

Hope you’re doing better now, and that you haven’t let that experience close you off completely. Sounds like you have a good heart.

Their fans will be the most stressed out fan base in the history because of what Saban did. This is their new reality and they will lose their minds. They enjoyed it while it lasted, all misery from here on out.
There’s a whole generation that doesn’t even remember Mike Shula.
Growing up in West GA, with the whole Price fiasco and then Shula, you couldn’t find many Bama fans around. Now? I can probably find more Bama fans than UGA fans where I live. That fanbase is in for a rude *** awakening as the balance of power shifts away from them.

You in West GA? Carrollton? Lagrange? Columbus?

I’m in North Central GA.

I really wish Auburn would get their **** together and knock them off their high horse, but I’m not optimistic.

So many Bama fans, they became the Cowboys over night. I see their gear everywhere, that's what winning does it creates a large group of bandwagon fans.

Newnan area. There are a ton of AU fans around here. I’ve always somewhat liked them. They were always the foil to some SEC team in the 2000’s-10’s. Hoping they don’t cancel the H&H with us. Was going to head the game at Jordan-Hare.

We always stop at the Chick-fil-A in Newman on our way down there.

And same. All the Auburn folks I know are good people. We’ll be there as well, so fingers crossed!

We just watched Bama quit in the FSU and IU games. Go watch the tape, you can see players literally giving up during plays in the 2nd halves. Where are they going from here and the most confusing thing is giving DeBoar a new contract. Simpson carried them. I think he is a very good coach, it just isn't working there. Where are their trenches on both sides of the ball? DeBoar isn't a bully ball coach. I don't like his fit in the SEC. If this supposed new NIL structure for them and Auburn holds true, they will no longer be a tier 1 team soon. Auburn is obviously planning for MJC to start next season. Big money for only starters. Look at their in state recruiting right now.

Lived in Newnan at one point. My brothers played Bball for E. Coweta. I use to work at the car auction spot off of I85.

Alabama has finished outside the top fifteen class recruiting rankings five times since 1999; the last time being in 2005 when they finished sixteenth.

Alabama is currently ranked sixteenth, or dead last, outta all SEC schools.

They just lost another highly recruited in-state target; this time to Texas.

I don’t believe they’ll fire him but I expect a NFL or college program to pay his buyout take Deboer off their hands next offseason—no matter what his record is.

For comparison, Saban’s average class ranking was 2.4. They finished first 9 times.

Including the transition class, Deboer’s last three years had the Tide 2nd, 3rd, and 2nd again. This is an insane falloff.

They aren’t even in the top 50 nationally despite having the highest rated quarterback in the nation. Of their 12 commits, they have two running backs, two quarterbacks, two tight ends, and a kicker.

The last five are an edge, DT, OL, CB, and another DE. All three stars

If he has another subpar (to Bama standards) I think Bama would waive the buyout.

The big problem for Bama and DeBoer has been the staff flux. They are on their 3rd OL coach in 4 seasons (Scott Huff, Chris Kapivolic, Adrian Klein). He demoted his OC to TE Coach for a season before he left to Michigan St. New WR, new TE coach, new DB and OLB coaches last year

Good point on the buyout, agreed.

A large part of that flux is caused by the absurdly high standards that their constituents (donors, athletic admin, fanbase, etc) self-created prior to, during, and after the Saban era. This paired with all of Saban assistants, now HCs, having immense success makes for an immensely toxic environment.

Mario, Venables, Cignetti and Norvell are the only active HCs with winning records against this guy. Oregon beat Fresno State 31-24 in 2021.

He is 15-3 against Lanning, Sark, Smart, Dillingham, Whittingham, Riley, Kelly, Golesh and Venables. Besides Michigan, in Y2, he beat the three schools— Tennessee, Vandy and OU—who beat him Y1.

That’s why I believe DeBoer is a top 5 coach, and he still has a ton of talent on the roster. He could go 11-1 and I wouldn’t be surprised. But their recruiting class is going to be the end of him unless he wins the natty this year.
