Just a thought.....
I know prices are going up every where and im sure tickets will now be part of funding NIL. But good lord the UM ticket office should be ashamed for what the are charging for single game ticket. Cheapest uppers start at 209 with mid field uppers near 300 and the lowers are 400-600+ on top of 100$ for YELLOW LOT parking. What should be a rowdy Sold Out affair under the hard rock lights may have a ton of open seats cause the school priced the fans out as there are a TON of tickets still available. SMH.

noticed it and decided not to buy any extra tickets for UF and ND.

Ticket money DOES NOT GO TO NIL.

They generally jack up individual prices for big games. I assume it’s to try to push season tickets instead. Miami has a long history of selling lots of tickets for big games and then playing in an empty stadium the following week. If they sell season tickets, those seats are paid for even if the owner doesn’t show up for the game.

Is it the school pricing out the fans or is the blame on the new college football landscape with NIL? Isn't this (NIL) what we wanted to see in college athletics? Pay the players, right?

Some did. Some did not. While I get the sentiments behind “the NCAA made billions off these kids for decades so these kids deserve it,” I also am financially prudent. From the rip I questioned how an unregulated payment system for players and an unlimited portal would/could actually work.

At what point does CFB merge with the USFL? Seems like a better fit than trying to squeeze more out of the “student”-athlete mirage.

My only push back is that much of college sports popularity is being associated with a university. Take that away and I think there would be a precipitous drop in popularity.

Schools don’t pay players. Ticket money doesn’t cover NIL. NIL is financed by donations. Canes Connection doesn’t get money from the ticket office.

I know we want to blame kids getting money for ticket price increases but the two have nothing to do with each other.

We can, however blame coaching salaries and bloated staffs. That money comes directly from the athletic department budget. That’s where ticket money goes.

This. Nobody gives a crap about minor league baseball. Eliminate the ties to the universities and most people won’t care to watch.

Yes on this association with school, region/state with athletic program. This association makes college athletics more grassroots than NFL, NBA and most of pro sports in this country. Closest to this is soccer clubs overseas.

They will if House ever gets approved. Also, Scholarship limit might go up. Several schools have started raising ticket prices.

True and my bad for conflating two issues. But bottom line someone has to pay for the 3rd QB coach.

Cool but the topic is 2025 game tickets.

I mean, my season tickets went up in price pretty much every year I had them. Sometimes incrementally, sometimes significantly. Nothing gets cheaper

So for the biggest regular season home games we have had in years, some of you wouldnt raise the prices for those games? I would if I was running the department.
Just as every pro team does for people buying individual tickets.

See the ticket price difference for a Dallas Mavericks fan when the Lakers are visiting as opposed to the Hawks or Nets.

Funny. I almost mentioned that in my previous post. However my name was called for my blood sample (yeah, I'm old) so I cut it short.

It's like the players and coaches are sponging off the "brand" of the universities while the schools pass the financial burden on to fans and alumni. Meanwhile the NFL sits back and laughs at their free minor league system.

season tix in my section (300 level home sideline) were $350 a piece. 8 games and 2 of those are travel worthy.

After paying $150 or so in 2017 for a ND ticket I bought season tix the next year. I maybe get to 1 game a season and sell or give away the rest. I’ve likely spent more than had I just bought single game from UM or used sestgeek but I got a primo seat so it’s worked out quite well.
