Thunderstorms and rain

I have such a difficult time understanding why we have a hard time playing in the rain when it rains every f'ing day in the South Florida summer.

^^This. I will always remember those 2 huge drops by Jimmy Graham up in Blacksburg.

Kevin Everett?

No, Jimmy Graham in 2010. Down 21-7 and driving (after being down 21-0), Harris put 2 passes in a row right on the money that would have moved us within the VT 20. Graham dropped both, we punted, and didn't threaten the rest of the game in a 31-7 loss. Everett dropped a pass on a fake FG in the 31-7 loss in 2003. Pretty sure it wasn't raining though.

Wouldn't want any players to get struck by lightning. Remember the time that happened in the last 100 years? Oh wait...

Maybe constant impact of drizzle on the helmet leads to concussions?

The sissification of this country continues with every freaking football game we now choose to delay or cancel.

Pretty sure a couple of kids were killed by lighting in Florida alone in the last couple of years (while playing football). But yeah, we shouldn't let something as "soft" as lighting turn us into "sissies". We're so much tougher than lighting, especially football players because they have extra muscle to deflect it.

Anyways, hope weather and officiating are not factors at the end of the day. Can't wait.

I remember the Everett pass very well. He was in one my classes and didn't show up the next week. I guess I don't remember Jimmy's drops because we were so bad that year.

That was actually our best year in the last 8 or 9, which is sad. That was the year we went 9-4 and were ranked as high as #8 after beating FSU, Ga Tech and Oklahoma before Jacory went all Jacory against Clemson and UNC.

Now the late money is on Louisville. Spread is up to -4.5 at most joints and -5 at 5Dimes. Probably not weather related. One or more of the big betting outfits has an opinion on Louisville.

I was at both of those games. All 3 of those drops had the potential to change the game big time and instead they killed our momentum.

As for playing in the rain and Jimmy dropping those balls, I believe that was relatively early in the season before Jimmy really started catching on (no pun intended). Also, that was a cold miserable rain. I live in the DC area, so it's not like I am not used to colder weather and that day was just miserable.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Had a screaming toddler in the background.
