Worth noting that we already had warning signs and an outright reprisal of the 2023 Louisville script against Guidry at this point last year.

EVERYONE on the D is balling. 3 and 4 are maybe best edge tandem in CFB. Tackles are solid. LB’s doing their job nicely, CB’s covering and not afraid to tackle and safeties are hitting hard. Best D since the 2000- 2002 days IMO

I’d like to see a breakdown of completion rate at the different levels ie., 0-10, 11-20, etc. outside of the couple of scramble +20’s we’ve given up how many +20 routes have been completed against us? Gotta figure a huge chunk of those 61% completions are bubbles, tunnels, etc.

I actually saw this before the game Saturday. It was on Zach Smiths menace to sports podcast. This is rough numbers.

His 10 and under was 90% ish. Very good
His 11-20 or intermediary was 60 something percent. Also very good. And his deep balls we’re also 50%

Before Saturday he was leading the country in completion percentage.

Obviously those will dip a bit after the today.

Guidry was pure ***, incredible to see someone be that bad at their job after having so much success beforehand.

Like a lot of these guys they buy into their own hype and think they’re smarter than they actually are. Consider defending someone like TVD. How many teams did he play against where the opposing DC tried to play man and Lashlee gave him single reads and he had success. Yet all you had to do as a DC is mask coverage and hit him with zones and it was complete chaos. Guidry isn’t the only one out there like that.

all 3 phases are making it possible. When they get 3 & outs and our O goes on 7-10 min drives, it allows our guys to rest to go 💯 for another 3 & out. Once up a few scores we can change our line out on passing downs to really get after the QB vs play conservative…. Just so many factors adding up to a great team performance

Imagine this D on last year’s team. That’s #6.

Hopefully we keep it up and the passing game starts to click after the bye.

while Guidry sucked, it should be noted that Bain was a shell of himself last year due to injury. The DL wasn’t too different talent-wise than it is now, but it was completely unable to get any pressure rushing just 4. Changes a lot on the backend when the D requires rushing 5 or 6 to get any pressure on the QB.
