I'd like to see Diaz get at least one more year because I see what he has done right and see him adjust and fix what is wrong. Just two years is insulting and lame. I'm hoping he can still have the power to get a quality DC. I'm hoping he still has the conviction of recruits to take a chance on the U. He has given us TVD, Garcia, Knighton and our future should be bright. Yet I get laughed at for suggesting he has not had enough time to show what he is driving towards. No one can doubt he loves his job, no one can deny he has been innovative, no one can deny we are a few points from a very successful season. I dread what might be missed by simply giving him one more year, after all we've waited 20 already and now we want to try the same thing that has failed us....how many head coaches do we try before we have that perfect coach. Rome wasn't built in a day! How many great coaches succeeded in two years?

Blake and UM should NEVER have hired another garbage rookie coach to coach Miami.. He needed to get his feet wet at temple NOT HERE!

The assumption was always that he was going to maintain the Top 25 defense he had been in charge of. We thought him plus a competent OC = success. He's been exposed as subpar DC at this point, and subpar head coach. He won't find another D1 job for a long time.

@fraggle rest easy my friend. I understand your passion around CMD. There is so much to like about him and I hate to see him go as well. The truth is, Manny can't fix this program. He is going to need more time learning at a smaller program before he is ready to coach a team like ours. My hope is he gets a job as a HC at a G5 school and can work his way up from there. The nightmare scenario is he goes to FSU as a DC.

You ask why he doesn't deserve more time? Three words...LACK OF PROGRESS.

I had no expectation of him getting us back to the top in 3 yrs. But I did expect progress. Instead we are still losing to teams with starters that wouldn't even be 3rd string on our team. We are still beating ourselves game after game after game (we were only beaten by a better team once this year, we defeated ourselves in every other loss, and in close wins that we should have dominated). We are still leading all of NCAA FBS in missed tackles, and among the worse in penalties. No progress.
