It's finally gameday. The 2026-27 College Football season officially kicks off tonight, when your Miami Hurricanes Football squad takes on the Stanford Cardinal.
The Hurricanes still have a nasty and funky taste in their mouth from last season, after falling to the Indiana Hoosiers in the National Championship game. Today marks a new season, meaning it is time to fully put last season aside and regroup for a new year under Mario Cristobal.

TE | Benji Blackburn
Blackburn made a massive impact in the season opener against Hawaii, recording a total of five receptions for 49 yards. He made himself a reliable threat against the Rainbow Warriors defense, showing that Stanford head coach Tavita Pritchard is not afraid to use the tight ends in the passing game. What's very interesting, Blackburn hails from Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida. Blackburn was rated as a three-star prospect signing with the Cardinal. Over the course of his three seasons with the team, he has recorded 16 receptions for 176 receiving yards.
RB | Micah Ford
Stanford starting tailback Micah Ford was nice in his 2026 debut against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors as he led the team in rushing, recording 99 rushing yards on 25 carries and three touchdowns. Coming out of high school, Ford was a three-star prospect hailing from New Jersey. Last season, Ford solidified himself as a reliable threat in the run game, recording 643 rushing yards and four scores.
LB | Matt Rose
Stanford veteran linebacker Matt Rose is coming off of an outstanding junior season, leading the Cardinal with 106 total tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble. He led the team in tackles against the Rainbow Warriors, totaling for nine tackles. Rose holds a big presence in the middle of the defense, standing at 6-foot-2, and 230-pounds.
