We’re officially two weeks away from Week Zero of the college football season, and the excitement is building. Pro Football Focus has released its Top 50 college football players ahead of the season — and three Miami Hurricanes made the list.

Francis Mauigoa, Carson Beck, and defensive lineman Rueben Bain all earned spots in the rankings. Mauigoa comes in at No. 41, Beck at No. 21, and Bain leads the way for Miami at No. 15.

Bain has been one of Miami’s top...

All legit. Season will depend on some guys like Trader, Toure, Scott, Too Tall Bell and one of our RBs and DEs making the Top 50-200.

Mehh… I know OL doesn’t hold the same value as other positions but I have a hard time believing that 1) there are 40 better football players than Mauigoa and 2) that there are 40 people that are better at their given position than he is at his position.

Whatever the criterion is, him at 41 is off to me.

I meant it was legit that those three would be recognized as Top 50 players, and our only ones preseason. I'm not worried about where precisely they're ranked within that elite group. But I understand your point.

Mauigoa isn't even viewed as the best OL in this draft class. Proctor is always talked about before him.

Could be LT vs RT (not sure of Proctor's T position) but

PFF had Proctor 43rd. Fano from Utah was 5th. Fano is a really good run blocker in that Utah system, but from an NFL projection standpoint, the other 2 will be higher. Fano might not even be the best OT on his team by year end.

Mauigoa will test better than Proctor. I think teams will view each guy differently and thus rank them differently, especially with their fit to each scheme....some will love Mauigoa inside at G, some at RT, just as some teams will likely see Proctor more at RT too bc he can struggle with speed and lateral movement. Right now, i think Mauigoa goes higher. Proctor can go higher if he plays more consistent this year.

I'm also interested in see that Nevada transfer now at Oregon (Isaiah World) and how he looks against better comp week in week out. He has the physical tools.
