Richards, Young and Wilder all had career ending neck injuries. Someone asked in another thread if they all received second opinions. I hope they did.

Did all three injuries require some sort of surgery? Was each injury the same?

I know most on the board probably don’t have the answers but **** I feel for these kids.

It was me and gacaneaddict...Can any of you site staff, or anyone close to program ask about this? That is awful bad luck, not saying it can't happen, and obv those kids safety have to come first.

A. Pfenninger mentioned his dislike for the medical staff. Not sure if this is related, but I wonder if they got cleared out as well. Concerns me to hear our kids aren't being properly cared for.

Pretty hard to blame the medical staff for career-ending neck injuries.

Yea the odds are slim to none of that happening. Got to start questioning the medical staff and the medical evaluation process they are using. It maybe nothing but it could be something.

He never said staff. He actually said the U Health staff is great. He did say there were one or 2 individual people that he was not fond of.

I’m 100% certain if Ahmmon Richards thought the medical staff at UM was even possibly in error with his diagnosis or treatment he’d be in another program or suing the school by now, instead of becoming the king of Twitter. Not everything is a conspiracy.

Even if they ask, it would be a God awful look for UM if ANY medical details are leaked by sources inside the program.
I hope they are ok and it's beyond insane that this happened 3x, but I'm sure the kids and parents got second opinions

Ya that's my point...I hope they got the 2nd opinions...If I had to call it, I'd agree with you that they did.

You can question the evaluation process that lead to that conclusion and whether that conclusion is correct.

That's nonsense. That's why you get second opinions. A neck injury is a bit more serious than ankle, knee. If anything, medical staff/physicians should probably be credited for detecting the issue early rather than have an athlete suffer paralysis.

The University of Miami has literally the best spinal cord and paralysis medical treatment in the United States. I think they know what they are doing.
