Thoughts on Tonight

This was my biggest fear game. I knew Belicheat would have a better team this year, it was in their house of horrors, night game on Halloween. Add to that the pressure of being the Top Dawg now.

I'm thrilled they won. Defensively, however, my expectations are tempered for a deep run. Sadly, the DL, which is the engine that motors the whole scheme, just isn't good enough to field a good defense. It is what it is.

Is this what he used last season? I dont remember it being so easy to march the field. This feels like Guidry and No D type coverage
Yes its been the one concern i have with heatherman. I think maybe we expected to be able to live in man more this year but oj went down and our 2nd best man corner, best nickel AND best safety is bryce so its just not the same level as a healthy oj with keionte and jakobe back there..and of course bain and mesi rushing

I hate the spot zones man ****. I remember last season I saw alot of cover 3 and my only complaint was the huge 10 yard cushions at time. Now we habe holes every with no pass rush. I still contend we should leave Bryce and Poyser back there and allow the CBs to play tighter instead of Bryce playing CB or nickel. But that's just me.

ND will abuse the UM defense with their TE's and the Canes defense has 5 days to learn how to tackle. Need faster LB's! Damon Wilson is a waste of money!

I think bryce would play safety way more if we had a good nickel but thorton was unplayable. And surprisingly bryce has been better than lucas at cb so far but hopefully that’s just rust

Miami survives its toughest fight of the year in a 38-35 thriller in Chapel Hill. Some thoughts on tonight.

-Mark Fletcher, all time Cane great. When we need him he steps us.

-Darian Mensah does it again. A near flawless performance. To me, Mensah is the best QB to come through Miami in a very very long time. He’s eclipsed Cam Ward, albeit Mensah has better weapons.

-Malachi Toney. Will go down as our best all time WR. The man just can’t not perform. It’s remarkable and we’ll likely never see this type of player again in our lifetime.

-OL shaky but really imposed their will as the game came on. Javion Mallory had another great game.

-Elijah Lofton has arrived. @DMoney he has risen. We don’t win tonight without him.

-Shannon Dawson, vest coordinator we’ve had here in decades. For the flack he gets at times, he’s on it most of the time. Really performed when needed.

-Defense what an unmitigated disaster. Worst performance since 2024 hands down. Bobby Petrino bent over Corey Heatherman. Idk what this D has to do to be better other than get some very important players back.

-Special teams minus our solid Kicker wake the **** up. Do we not practice onside kicks.

-Mario you’ve really been a great gameday coach this year. Can we just kneel the ball please?

Lots to fix but we get the job done.
Prob Mensah best complete game all year . Not by numbers he played smart , used his arms and legs which makes him a even more of a threat

The players and coaches on defense should feel a ton of heat. They look awful. This looked like Guidry 24 tonight where we had no shot to get a stop. Way too much money on players and coaches over there to look like this. Come on Hetherman. Let’s go
