It’s time to shift our perspective as fans. The players have a different mentality– they need to take the process step-by-step because they’re actually doing things. But as fans, we can look ahead and hope. And my focus has shifted from Charlotte to January 19, 2026 at the Rock. Because, for the first time in 23 years, we have a team that can legitimately compete for a championship.

The Canes played on Sunday, so we were able to watch college football all weekend. Call me a homer–and I’m a...

Keionte Scott played like a professional football player at Nickel. What he did in that game is exactly what a nickel corner that goes in the first three rounds looks like. Very aggressive and competes through the whistle. Tackler. Smart, too. A few plays early caught my eye where he used his instincts and bailed a little early on an assignment to meet a receiver at the point and didn't wait and it resulted in a minimal gain.

There was a play early on that told you what you need to know from Toure...had Love on a route downfield in a seatbelt. The linebackers ability to get out and cover in this defense was more evident than in the past, especially from Toure.

Notre Dame is a big, physical, disciplined team that is pretty much a shoe in playoff squad.

And we bullied them.

The final score is not indicative of how much bigger, stronger, and faster than them we are.

Refs and offensive playcalling is really the only reason they were able to stay in it.

As with last year, our path is set. We just have to handle business.

How accurate should we realistically expect Carter Davis to be? It's clear his range is functionally unlimited, but the guess with a guy like this is he might as well be wild thing out there before he got glasses.
We'll find out. He makes them in practice but there's limited track record in games. I wish we had him longer because he seems to be on an upward trajectory.

Great write up. Only thing that can hold us back in my opinion is Mario’s in game coaching.

He gets all the credit for building what he’s built which is a championship level team. But now he needs to be a championship level in game coach. This game shouldn’t have been as close as it was. We were the superior team, at almost all positions. Refs didn’t help but the game had a feel of a 28-14 type finish not a nail bitter like it was

I think we will scale up on both sides of the ball. Beck will be a 30 TD QB and I think our defense will continue to get better. We really need to build depth. The 7 straight games will test our manhood. Our physical brand will be put to the test come Halloween even if the teams are not top tier. Seven straight is hard on any team

This assumes that Mario went over and said "run everything up the middle and punt", of which there is no evidence. We have to stop putting everything that goes wrong on Mario getting involved.
