.) The offensive line. These guys have steadily improved each week since the Louisville game and kicking Feliciano to the right side has seemed to work wonders. Tonight they dominated a Bud Foster coached defense, that's no easy task. Linder balled out, Flowers was mistake free and as a unit they mauled the VT defense all night. Best showing so far this season by far.
.) James Coley called his best game as a hurricane. We started in shotgun sets when the pass was a threat and as we took control the offense transitioned to more under center looks with FBs and TEs. Most importantly, we stuck with what was working! Our line doing what they wanted and Duke made em pay. Coley stuck with the run, fed the best player on the team and the results for everyone were marvelous. Kudos to you James Coley.
.) Brad Kaaya is bonkers. He just walked into Blacksburg was unfazed, nothing gets to this kid. He was calm, effective when asked to throw it, seemed to make the proper checks and reads, and he kept the offense on the field and moving. He was slightly off on a few throws but showed his great accuracy (the TD to Duke before the half). We've already seen a tremendous amount of growth from him, the sky is the limit with him.
.) The defense was alright. This was a product of a really bad VT offense, but they played good. These kinds of showings by the defense don't so much give me hope for the future as they do **** me off. This is a top top 15 defense under somebody like Narduzzi or any other elite defensive coach. A dominant, fast, strong defense that would wreak **** in the soft *** ACC. This game (and the Duke game) serve as that small glimpse of what could happen if these kids are fully unleashed.
.) It's Duke JOHNSON, not williams. I lost count how many times Jesse Palmer called him Duke Williams, the part your ******* up is on the back of the jersey, get it together man.
I'm gunna enjoy this while it lasts, I'm sure I'll be brought back to reality next week.
