Let's face it, Manny Diaz is fast becoming a hot name to watch over the next few years in regards to other football programs potential "Head Coach" searches.

From the types of things he says in interviews, he is just so Miami.

He really understands the culture down here through and through and is presumably extremely connected to community stemming from his dads tenure as the Mayor.

I really believe that he has his sights set on becoming the head coach after Mark Richt.

I'm predicting that around the time 2020 season rolls around (which Richt will be in year 5 and may coach another 3), they'll give Diaz a "Head Coach In Waiting" title.

I could see Diaz being that "lifer" coach here for 20+ years.

Nobody on this staff should leave until after we win a National title, which may happen this year or next year.

But, we should keep the same crew intact for at least 3-4 years before anyone starts taking jobs elsewhere.

Just give'em all a raise if other teams start knocking, Miami can afford it.

I definitely remember a story about him going to some conference or something last offseason for future hopeful head coaches

Fans think these things are beyond our control, but they should look again. Fill the stadium like we did these past three weeks and we win more games and can pay our staff more.

Diaz ain't going nowhere. He's in his roots man, his family is here, his life is here. No traveling for the holidays and unlike our past, we have a new president, and Richt is going to get these men raises to keep them, especially El Jefe and Kool. Watch for your season ticket prices to go up.

richt is not the type of guy to go late in his 60's

he almost retired after UGA

if richt wins one he may be here 5-8 years... manny is young and could take over by the time he's 50 and be the next HC of miami

(just a pipe dream)

I think richt will be here 10 years but not more than that. Diaz will need to be named HC in waiting soon or he will leave but he would always come back as he is as MIami as they come.

More than likely Manny stays for another 2 years, to try and finish what he started and win a NC. Then he may take a job at a smaller school like Memphis,USF, Arizona, or Houston. To be able to build his brand and try to get more experience. Then once he cuts his teeth the big schools will be calling and he will be able to choose where he goes. By this time Richt may be ready to retire. An we can make a push for him. The only thing I worry about is FSU may also have interest in him in the future. Manny went there so I wouldn't be surprised if he had interest as well.

I think he will be here at least another year. He's going to get a big raise. Frost goes to the Gators after the USF game.

Yes to all of the above.
