Thoughts on Lyle this week.

We’re finally back to “don’t get injured or you might not get yo spot back” days.
This

I'm critical of Mario's coaching on gamedays but he made it clear from the beginning that he wanted serious competition to where if you weren't available, someone else might take your snaps for good.

Right now, at RB, it appears he's accomplished that goal.

Fletcher and Brown both had 20+ touches against UiF. That's too many to hold up for what we hope is a 16 game season.

Lyle should, and will, get plenty of snaps when he's fully healthy, which is hopefully this week.

If you asked anyone close to the program to name the best players on the team in August, every single one of them would've said "Lyle" in the first breath. When he's 100.0%, he's going to play.

I love what Fletch and Brown are doing, but both of their snaps should be pared back by about 15% and given to Lyle. Let's see what the young boul can do.

Not sure why people be thinking other backs getting touches is some type of demotion for the others. Lyle and Pringle bring a different dimension to the game. We cannot and should not try to rely on long drives all the time. That keeps the games close like UF and one penalty which we been having problems put you into must pass. There been plenty of times we get through the hole and its 1 v1 with the safety, Fletcher broke one v USF but we can break more of those.

Also we play a very physical type of game. You dont want to get to game 10 and the players have hit a wall.

Yeah I was going to make the point of hopefully a long season. If he's a go need to get him some touches we going to need all of our Rbs down the stretch

I agree, he seems too good to be off the field and not a knock to Fletch or Brown at all, they deserve touches and hopefully with Lyle some of those 5 yds he can turn into 20 yds. 20+ carries each is too much, like you said dropping them both to 15 and giving Lyle the difference of 10 is completely possible.

The only reason I am not too optimistic about seeing Lyle or Jojo this week is because of that stupid bye next week. If the injuries are still even 95% I bet Mario decides to rest them knowing they will get another 2 weeks then we have a sprint to the end of the season. Not to mention Louisville is at home so offensive players wont have to deal with the crowd and added emotions for their first game action in a month.

Needs to reverse engineer Ozempic, pack on massive amounts of muscle and get phyzical

Lyle averages 2.8 ypc in games decided by less than 28 pts
Lyle averages 3.6 ypc in the 1st-3rd Quarters

Maybe that means something, maybe it doesn't.

But Id rather not use the FSU game to try and find out

Fletcher and Brown are the dudes. Lyle will need to earn snaps back against lesser opponents.

I’m not inserting Lyle back as a starter on the road at FSU when Fletcher and Brown have shown to handle the big moments.

Not to say Lyle can’t, but let’s not test that against two proven players right away.
