Tell that to Notre Dame because he beat their Dback on a deep route. He isn’t a deep threat. He is more of a yac type guy

It could be. Maybe some off the field stuff or lack of effort in practice. Something doesn’t seem right. It seems like more than injury issues.Idk.. It seems to be a character issue or something, which I would have never saw coming. They gave him chances vs ND and nothing since. Hopefully he gets it together and we can ride out with him baby jesus and daniels
1 play makes him a deep threat?Tell that to Notre Dame because he beat their Dback on a deep route.
Take the top off the defense? He drew the PI against ND but otherwise he’s done nothing as a receiver. 1 catch in 2 games as a starting receiver is abysmal.Marion is starting because he blocks his *** off and he can take the top off the defense.
No you are wrong. I have went back and watched stuff from byu and here. Being fast doesn’t make you a deep threat. He is at his best with the ball in his hands not running deep routes. He has done a good job blocking but as a wr he is better as that 4th type guy who you bring in and move aroundYou’re dead wrong on this and clearly you haven’t been watching the Guy play or know anything about what he brings to the field. He’s the only one of the starting three that can truly take the top off the defense with elite speed. And he’s also a powerful break the tackle yac guy as well. Oh, and let’s not forget he’s blocking like an animal out there. So with what I’ve seen, JoJo has shown nothing to pass that guy up. Either your bought in and doing the work in practice or get ready to sit the bench.
Yes. He has the speed but we are going to the best matchup. Last night Daniels and Toney had the best matchups to go deep.1 play makes him a deep threat?
It’s daniels and toney every week in the pass game. Just because you are fast doesn’t make you a deep threat. Nobody is worried about Marion out thereYes. He has the speed but we are going to the best matchup. Last night Daniels and Toney had the best matchups to go deep.
Yeah that’s a tough look when your trying to establish a tradition for it… Daniel’s and Toney look more deservingIf everyone put enough thought in this, they could figure this out. A guy earns wearing #1 and can't get a snap.
That penalty is the only bad thing I’ve seen from him this season if we’re being honest. Beat a guy deep against usf, catches the ball when thrown his way, and blocks.which is interesting considering he played well vs ND and got a lot of press early. IDK why Marion gets the snaps he does. He single handedly caused a huge penalty last night being lazy
A pitch. More counter. Even a little trap.frankly, the Canes need more explosive plays in the running game. CFB Stat rankings show that our running game is very average in explosive plays in spite of the stellar OL. Although mediocre play-calling plays a role, the Canes still need more explosive plays and Fletcher and Brown hasn’t brought that explosive element consistently yet.
The coaches know Lyle and what he can do. We have seen his explosive plays last season, but this season his injuries slowed him. IMHO, we need a RB like Lyle or Pringle fully integrated in our run game by the end of the season or we will be vulnerable at some point in the season and playoffs. To date, we have not been as explosive as other top tier teams have been in the running game
Again, he blocks his @ss off, and the defense is forced to take notice of his speed, or he will take the top off. What I will say is this, JoJo has done nothing to take snaps away from him, and that is a fact.Take the top off the defense? He drew the PI against ND but otherwise he’s done nothing as a receiver. 1 catch in 2 games as a starting receiver is abysmal.
I guess he didn’t take the top off the Notre Dame defense were the cornerback was forced to tackle him to save a touchdown. Let’s not forget that that pass interference call is part of what won that game for us. I guess you forgot that.No you are wrong. I have went back and watched stuff from byu and here. Think we have been playing more pony sets recently, because Dawson recognizes that Marion isn't much of a threat and the offense is better off with another RB and 1 less WR. Marion played 38 snaps last night and was targeted once, IIRC. Really hard to justify lining up 3 WR when one of the WR never gets targeted.Again, he blocks his @ss off, and the defense is forced to take notice of his speed, or he will take the top off. Also, let’s not forget Elijah Lofton is starting to get going and that’s gonna be a whole Other ball game for opposing teams.Think we have been playing more pony sets recently, because Dawson recognizes that Marion isn't much of a threat and the offense is better off with another RB and 1 less WR. I love the pony sets and wish we would feature them more, but they limit what Dawson can do scheming WRs open. We really need another WR to step up, IMO. Think it's a small miracle our passing offense has been as good as it has been to this point.
