thoughts on lyle and jojo

Has either of them warmed up before the games yet? Thats usually the most accurate indicator for mario on how close they are.

Last year bain warmed up vs Vtech even tho he didn’t play, he played the next week vs cal

I think they are coming back at the right time. I like the idea ay its played out this far. Both are very talented and surely guys will start to be banged up that are playing ahead of them now.

were still missing the explosive plays in the offense so both should help once theyre back from their secret suspension or injury or both

Why not?
It's not Mario's job to help his opponents.
Fans obsessing over this need to touch grass.

You're right, Mario can. But the flip side of the coin is by saying one thing and doing another it gives fans something to speculate. Even the announcers were talking about how they were told they'd see Lyle in the game at some point.

It's not a great look for the kids, it makes them look soft, or like they've been passed up, or worse -- it causes guys on the internet to start claiming they may be potheads or late for meetings.

I really don't care about this topic. The team is 4-0 and the guys we have at those spots are playing as well -- if not better -- than JoJo and Lyle could. So roll with them until there is a need to look elsewhere.

I had a feeling they'd be leery about Lyle getting carries in that weather when he hadn't had recent game experience.

Both of these kids are very talented and come from elite HS programs that UM heavily recruits from every year. I'm sure Mario and his staff are not going to intentionally do those kids wrong. So-called fans speculating and assuming worse case reasons as to why those kids didn't play are going to happen regardless of what Mario says. They are idiots who need to get a life. He doesn't owe anyone anything in this regard.

fair, and I dont think it is owing anyone anything, but it is also managing mob expectations which can turn into reality. I for one think the simplest answer is likely the correct one. Lyle has been dealing with an ankle or soft tissue injury, he is suited up and can play through if needed but so far he hasnt been needed.

I was not at UF game, for anyone who was how was the stadium? I know on my couch 13-7 after Cormani INT I had an oh **** moment, but never felt like that against ND in the crowd when they came back.

Jojo someone said concussion which makes sense, then it sounded like he did not have the best week of practice and the gameplan very quickly was Beck is off, ball is wet, UF has a good secondary, playing 2 high all night, lets just run. Those pre-snap penalties really killed us on the OL. Unsure what brock was doing but he needs to get right this week. I think he accounted for 4 penalties alone.

Toney basically starting from Day 1. Moore playing a ton. Lyle got run last year.

the least likely answer is that coaches are holding out guys who can perform today because they want to be a *worse offense*.

The players ahead of them have proven they can be trusted, and in the case of Fletcher and Brown, they have proven they cannot be stopped. Both should still see time but any delusions of them starting or leading the way this season should be ended imo. No big deal either since they're both in year 2 and still have time to become great.
