Thoughts on last night

Y’all act like teams need 20 draft picks to win games in cfb. I see it all the time on this board “we don’t have anyone who is going to play on Sundays.” Y’all are weirdly obsessed with being an NFL feeder. We need that level talent to win nattys, sure, but you don’t need that talent just to score a TD in a football game. It’s not just the play calling. The whole thing is garbage. These players don’t believe what they’re being told. They don’t feel like they are going to succeed. All sticks and no carrots

If you ask me, this offense is such a failure that it has infected the entire team. I refuse to believe the defense is this bad too. I just think they know the offense is so bad that they give up because they know they don't have a shot unless they zip the other team, which is beyond unrealistic in 2022. IMO, a better offense will make this defense look a lot better.

100%. We've seen it in the past in reverse with Donofrio's defense, eventually the offense thew in the towel. In this case, the defense keeps going out there after 3 and out, 3 and out. They get tired and dejected. They know there's no chance of winning.

The really really alarming thing is that the offense didn't buy into Gattis and Mario from day 1. There was never any buy in. You could tell that TVD and the offense hated Gattis and this scheme from game 1.
