some guy named Jimmy Johnson gets his first opportunity to coach OkSt in 2010 and in 5 years places an identical record from his actual years from 1979-1983 (you can look that up) .

What would be your reaction if his name was recommended to be placed on a list of potential candidates to replace Golden?

He's trying to say if jj was hc today and was a newcomer to the college scene and posted that record he had from 79 to 83 n miami hired him what would we fans say.

Well fans on here think Richt a 10 win most seasons in the sec is a bad hire so obviously the miami fans wouldn't be pleased with that hire your hypothetically asking about

JJ record at Oklahoma State .535 before Miami.

Leach record .591

...WAKE UP.

LEACH LEACH LEACH LEACH LEACH LEACH

dude the conference JJ played in was stronger than the SEC on horse steroids. The talent in that conference from 1978-1983 was ridiculous. Al golden wouldnt have won 3 games a year.

Irrelevant, he's asking if a coach posted a .535 win percentage in say the SEC, would you be OK with him as a head coaching candidate at Miami?

if that coach ultimately won at UM I DONT GIVE A F WHAT HIS RECORD WAS BEFORE.

That's the question, you don't know what the future holds. If coach X winning % was .535, would you be OK giving him a chance?

I guess this all went over your head. We are talking about fans reaction negatively to any coach mentioned as a replacement to golden. Even butch is now no longer good enough in people's eyes on here.

The op is just making a point

Leach lost to Portland St. this year and Washington St. fans (I live in Seattle) do not like him. That should tell you all you need to know.

You may want to relook that statement. Oklahoma ran off 3 straight 8-win seasons in 81, 82 and 83. I believe Missouri's best season was 8-wins. Colorado was very pedestrian. K State, Kansas and Iowa State were awful. Nebraska just rolled through the conference in 82 and 83.

There is nothing in Jimmy's performance at Oklahoma State that said he'd be a superstar when he took over from Howard. The best indicator was his pedigree as an assistant and as a player. It's pretty unique and amazing.

Is he bringing Butch Davis with him the recruit? Because otherwise probably not.

You are a ******* liar because right now they are playing for the Pac=12 north this weekend. When was the last time they were in the discussion of a conference title in November?

Living in Texas, I say H3LL NO to Leach. The man had some good offenses at Texas Tech, but his defenses sucked. Give me a Defensive minded head coach and hire a really good OC. My vote is for Butch.
