Thomas Brown to join staff

He hasnt earned 600k a yr is what im saying. I want Richt to hire top guys, not guys with 4 yrs of experience as co-oc. Idc how "organizational" in naturr you think it is.

the 600k is a rumor. we don't know what he will make. it hasn't even been made official is just a report. miami doesn't have to release salary of coaches if don't want to and haven't with richt. so its all speculation to get upset over a reported dollar amount is pointless and even if are paying him that so what.

they have money to pay assistants this time its not like when golden or shannon took over. addidas money is helping pay coaches what they should make and can make at other places like bama, michigan and lsu. its nice to see miami actually pay coaches a competitive salary

It's funny how mad some people get because CMR isn't doing what they wanted. It's almost like they should be getting to coach the team instead of CMR. I mean, they clearly know how to coach and how to set up a coach staffing more than the dude that won about 75% of the games he coached at a P5... SMH. Let the man do his job. If you think you can do better, apply for it if it comes up again because you must know something he doesn't.

Hahahahahahahahahaha @ some of our fans; who I assume are casual football fans. Just looking at some of these post; cot**** ya'll will cry bout anything, won't u?

So let me get this str8; when we hired a HS coach w/ no collegiate experience as a member of the coaching staff, it was a great hire b/c of what? "Ties to the community?" How's that working out for our recruiting? But now, we actually hire a coach who's coached RBs for the past several years on the collegiate level, at power 5 schools, and it's a nepotistic bad hire?? Lol! Yeah OK; I'll make sure to save this thread and come back to see how many become chameleons and change their "opinions" when the season start. Smh.

lets be honest here. most of those complaing think miami can hire butch davis as dc, then hire chuck pagano to coach lb's , thats not happening plus they think butch should of been hc hire. they are crying about every little thing. miami isn't gonna sign 12 wrs' and 13 dbs what are they thinking.

what u mean oline and dline are important we actually have to have lb's not us we are south florida and with our wr speed and cb sspeed we dont need no oline or dline guys thats just wrong.

richt should hire every dc on market and make them all position coaches except don brown the best dc i have ever seen that or we fire him right now lol, or thats how it sounds to me.

ps kirby smart wanted to keep him as his rb coach. so thomas brown isn't a bad coach. hartley isn't either. as special teams coordinator he should do solid job can't be worse then golden was.

brown has coached some good rb's also chubb, melvin gordon and the like. while i think those complaining need to realize this they aren't gonan be happy no matter who richt hires, he isn't butch and to them that is all that matters. everything he does will be criticized by the butch davis for hc crowd.

It's funny that we are taking some random UGA fanboy's word that he is getting paid 600k. I have seen too many Fermans on these sites to just believe that guy has insight on how much money Miami is paying their assistants when people who are paid to follow and report on Miami don't even know those figures.

Unfortunately, this is true. Look, it's well documented from many of my post that I love Butch, but gawlee, that ship has sailed. The real nepotism is fans who are so enthralled by Butch, they are already trying to undermine our new coach by nitpicking on EVERYTHING. Look at the recruiting board; complaint over there. Here, on the EyeintheSky board first complaint was he's not hiring anybody, now it's "OMG, can u believe he's hiring old UGA staff members??!! That's nepotism!"

The man hasn't been here a month, and already the moaning and groaning is going on. Maybe everyone is still so anxious due to what we had to endure for the last 10 yrs, and in particular the last 4 1/2. I'm going to use that as an excuse, b/c I can't believe some of my Cane family is this **** sensitive and irrational to everything.

Let the bowl game play out; hopefully we win b/c I wanna see these kids leave here w some sort of dignity and momentum towards next yr, no matter how crappy this bowl game is. Then let the real games begin, that's including recruiting.

This is exactly what i was thinking this morning while reading thru the thread. Great post. Calm the **** down people...Wow.

Another thing people ignore completely is that the HC has to work with these people. Most posters have no idea what any of these folks are like in person, in private, etc. If I'm an HC, but a top DC is someone I believe to be a real ***, I'm not hiring him for my staff. Those relationships can work, but only for a very short time. Then they melt down and take the team with it.

Great find. All this nonsense about an easy position to coach. It's all about pass pro, blah, blah, blah. I say baloney. Watch this guy teach his drills and listen to him talk about sinking your hips, planting your outside foot correctly on cuts, watch how he wants his kids to protect the ball with elbow down, tight fit, close to the body. Just from this short clip the guy knows what he's talking about.

Some of you guys criticizing a young coach with a huge amount of energy. These are the type of guys you want as position coaches because they can relate to the kids and the kids will respond to them. I'd suspect this guy will work his tail off and put in long hours even if he is also responsible for running game coordination. I guarantee you he understands Richt's vision for his offense.

Kirby Smart desperately tried to keep Brown on his staff.

The guy played in the NFL for 3 years and coached Melvin Gordon in 2014. He has a better resume than any current Miami assistant coach(other than Kehoe who is washed up)

We had to overpay a bit to get Brown but who cares? In case you haven't figured it out, Miami has the same financial resources as any program in the Country.

Donna simply did not want to spend it.

Julio does.

yea but Ice had them master 2 drills and he is the godfather of south florida high school football.
