Thomas Brown Excoriates Offensive Performance vs. UNC

Does anybody know what he does besides coach running backs?

He and Jon Richt are stealing money from this university.

He's here to recruit.
And he's sure done a bang up job there.

Do you know who he’s played a major role in recruiting/signing/getting commits from, or are you just doing the “he’s RB coach and we missed on a RB last year so he’s terrible” routine?
I understand position coaches don't exclusively recruit their unit. From all accounts Brown (in previous years based on reporting) hasn't been primary recruiter for many and did epically fail at his position last year. The shoe fits in this instance. Maybe he makes up for it this year.

Are you at all familiar with the top ranked recruit in our 2018 class?

Brown saw what I saw—we gave minimal effort. Low effort and zero focus. That’s on the players and on Rick for not pushing the right buttons.

Our coaches need to be “bad cop” all week wearing these guys out for lack of effort and focus. We come out breathing fire on Saturday, and we ambush those facquits.
Hurricane Vision’s post only further drives home these observations. I mean, what the actual **** were we doing? I want to chalk it up to an early road game against a well prepared dog**** football team, but we’ve been consistently shooting ourselves in the foot all year.

The focus and intensity must be there. If we can’t get focused for a game like this, well **** may as well mail it in for the year anyway.

If we get beat by a better team, then that’s all good. We give them the game and they’ll never live it down.

I kind of like that we played so feebly against UNC and basically no-showed. Gives the coaches something to hammer them on all week. Had we played a perfect game and drubbed them then maybe we don't come out as keyed up against VT.

I have a feeling we're going to ambush these guys on Saturday night and play our best game of the season.

Agreed. Pshycholgy plays such a big part of CFB.

Miami is limping into this game, for all intents and purposes. VT, otoh, has come out and thoroughly dismantled their opponents the past few opponents and are coming in here probably pretty confident.

Exactly. There was the one screen called on Saturday, if you remember, which was perfectly timed, and perfectly set up.

Rosier flat out misses the throw in the flat, and the ball hits the ground. He makes that (basic) throw, and Homer scores, and it's game over. Travis could have run all the way back to coral gables on that one. As soon as I saw it develop, I yelled "TD!" ... only to see the ball snuffed into the turf. Can't blame the play calling on that one.

Real talk I have been saying these two truths about this game: Coach Richt kept it vanilla because he's holding back for the two biggest games of his tenure and of the past decade for Miami. He doesn't want to put anything on tape that he doesn't have to.

As for the players they could give two s#!ts about UNC and it showed. Thats the visual of a team still learning its way to greatness. They are still learning how to stay cranked up for 12-15 games a season. The way the team plays when it matters most is ultimately indicative of this. I firmly believe playing at an 8 out of 10 intensity or higher this team can blowout 90% of teams, let alone if they play 10 out of 10. But they had zero interest this past weekend. Gift and a curse. Sucks that we suffer in the media and in the polls for it, but surely some if not many of those turkeys at VT will under estimate us and pay for it.
Holy **** if you believe anything you just typed.

If had had to choose anything I just wrote, I unequivocally believe that we were looking pasting UNC. 100%. If you listen to Coach Brown we played our worst game of the season. Against 1-7 UNC. I am much more inclined to believe, and most people would agree, that we are not that sh--- or undisciplined and UNC is not that good.

Can you agree with that?
If you think Richt kept it "vanilla" I have some swamp land for you. I have no idea why they came out and played like **** offensively. I do know Richt was blasting all week about the need for a dominate performance..... Then we come out and **** the bed. He talks about the need to improve execution every week. Well..... Time for talk is over. Get it done. Execution is on the staff....... Period.

Execution is on the players my man. Install players execute. Coach’s aren’t on the field. Coach Richt could punch everyone in the teeth that messes up during practice but that doesn’t give him the ability to physically run the plays he calls. Anyone with two eyes could see the players looked passed UNC and showed their immaturity by not giving anything close to their best game.
I’m not saying the coaches are Scott free but not even swamp land the size of the Everglades could hide the fact that this bad game is primarily on the players.

Golden/D'no said the same thing week in week out. In the end, if the kids aren't executing, it's on the coaches. Offensive "execution" has been for the most part hit and miss for two straight years. Let's hope they put 4 quarters of clean football together this weekend.

Thomas Brown expects players to give the effort he did during his playing dYs, man brought the lunch pail every day. Also a great recruiter, expect a couple 4-5 star RB's every year under him. As for Jon Richt I would give him at least half credit for Kosi and Cade. If he somehow lands a QB of Williams status at this late date he is worth every dime he is paid. Bama got analysts making more than a couple of our coaches.
