This years Mike Jack?

Scott patchan, has a lot of ability and a great get off. Just has to stay healthy
Scott started playing youth ball in the league I used to coach in so I'm pulling for him, but I feel Findley with his speed can size can flourish at hybrid LB role.

Derrick Smith wouldn't count as the "Mike Jack" award receipient. Smith flashed his talent immediately. Dean cant count either as he flashed ability but as most JUCO guys had a hard time realizing he has to come up and tackle if you want to play CB at the college level. He will be fine.

There were some on here who were ready to ship Mike Jacks a$$ out of here this time last year. He literally was someone we expected to get nothing from and came out of nowhere to be a national name... So with that said..

Has to be either Patchan or Cager. For some reason I have my vote for Cager. I just think he blows up. Would love for it to be Patchan because we will need him in 2019 but I just don't know if he will get the reps to really do what Mike Jack did. Hes got JJ, DJ and Garvin in front of him and they aint giving up those spots for nothing.

Very good points and helps to right the post back on course. To your D Smith point I have to agree and change my choice.

I’ll take Romeo Finley. He always struck me as having ability but I always struggled to find a fit for him. I think he could also do work in that hybrid role. He’s got great range and hands. If his tackling and strength continue going up he could surprise to the tune of 35-45 tackles 4 sacks and 4 ints. Not sure on his motor but could be the back 7s answer for Trent Harris.

I really want to see Patchan do well so that is who I am rolling with. I remember Pete saying it was not just the injury bug, but he had a MAJOR issue keeping on good weight. Does anyone know what he is weighing these days? I hope he can keep enough on to get through a season.

If he's healthy, he'll get the reps. Diaz likes to rotate his DEs a lot. Five DEs got regular time last year.

U mean who will be our next 1st round pick to emerge out of the blue like Mike Jack??

Lawrence Cager and Gerald Willis

Derrick Smith isnt a late bloomer so he don't qualify imo when It comes to this topic.

Im going with Zach McCloud.

Yall be busy ****ting on him from last year, meanwhile he's gunna show everyone why he was so hyped last summer.

That #12 at QB is who I'm hoping will take the next step. We need a big year out of him... Not just a big year a huge 1... Im hoping he realizes what he has to work with and that he has the keys to a Ferrari... I think he'll be the QB again this year... The other QB's just aren't doing enough to unseat him... As of now he's still the starter and I hope he can bring it all together... If he does, this can be a special year!

I think if Patchan is healthy, he may have 8 to 10 sacks this year. But I think Amari is going to start before it's all said and done. Wouldn't be surprise if they're cross training him at the Nickel LB spot as well
10 sacks? More than any STARTER has had on this team in over 10 seasons, you think the guy 4th on the roster at best has a chance of achieving?

WRs the size of Lawrence Cager aren't supposed to have his agility and fluidity. He's another year removed from a major injury. Stick him in a trips bunch with a 2-way go and I don't know who can cover him.

But if the coaching staff just sticks him on the boundary again to run isolation routes and go for 50-50 balls then it'll be another disappointing year, so who knows.

Cager I think will step up in 2019. Richards will man the X and dominate and Thomas will be on the other side and get deep. In 2019 Richards will be gone and Thomas will command double teams at the Z. So Cager is in the perfect position to step into the open space.

We all want the QB’s to step up but they are who we all know they are. Young or limited.

Willis is going to make the jump in 2018. The kid is clearly talented and seems to have the coaches fooled into thinking he has his life together. But they are not going to hype him for good reason. Making him earn it and be a leader. People will not be able to double team him with our DE’s as good as they are so he will be able to eat. And when they do double him Jackson will eat. 2 number 1 draft picks on the DL is needed.

This is a team game. Time for our top players to feed off of each other this year.
