This year's FSU matchup will be a 1st in a while

We had a massive talent advantage over them last year too.

They suck
I'll respectfully disagree. They have out recruited us for YEARS!! Starting with Jimbo's last year, we actually very slightly out-coached them, and that has been the difference. With the Noles attrition and with the additions we've made, especially the recent transfers, I feel like we not only have a coaching advantage over them, but maybe even a slight talent edge over them, but up until now, they have been stacking top 5 classes year after year under Jimbo. We're just now catching up to FSU/UF talent-wise.

Now, I am unabashedly drinking the Manny coolaid until it's proven that I shouldn't. I fully believe that we will have elite recruiting for the 1st time since maybe 2003. As long as we have Manny and the Noles have Willie, I believe that we will hold the kind of talent and coaching edge over them, that they held over us for nearly all of Jimbo's tenure in Tally.

Having said all of that, let's please not have a blurry memory about what happens nearly every single year in our annual rivalry game, regardless of who has advantages over the other. Miami vs FSU will almost always be a 4 quarter blood bath. Don't get me wrong, I still believe we'll win this year's blood bath, but only if we play 4 passionate quarters of football. Foregone conclusions on Miami wins against ACC opponents are a thing of the past.

The biggest thing that sticks out to me is we play them late this year: first weekend of November. Gives both teams some time to work out new coaches, offenses, etc. Also more time for injuries. Despite the fact they seem like a hot mess right now, IDK how easy this will be.

For the record, I think both of our state of Florida opponent games will be tough hard fought games.

I am going ask again, why in the **** did we always get in these situations. the U should have never been in this situation. our last championship was 2001. its not the coaches or players. there is more than this. the cancer needs to be removed from this program. 2001 and one championship, let alone , ACC championships. I am sure other coaches would have foamed at the mouth to be at the university of Miami. Can someone tell me why we have gone so badly. I need one explanation on this mystery.

Miami -3 ....the usual slugfest and we win. Extend our streak to 3.

Its a conspiracy of the Illuminati.

Miami had 6 players invited to the combine and fsu had 3

Miami had better upperclassmen last year. You think fsu has better returning players than miami?

I dont believe UF is taking the game personally and U believe they're overlooking us. They don't see us rivals.

Also, not much of a fan of their roster and they're QB is almost as bad as FSUs.

As we saw last season, FSU will come to play and they desperately want to beat us. They need this win.

Fair points. You’re not wrong.

I’m not a Franks fan (obviously) but he seems to be gritty and a ‘gamer.’ I don’t really know whole lot of their roster but assume they return some decent talent from a 10 win team. Add some decent recruits (their classes haven’t sucked) and continuity of coaching staff, and they’re gonna be OK.

Hopefully they do overlook us. That’d be great for us. Like i said, I don’t think you’re wrong.

I do think both games will be hard fought.

1st, I do think we will have a slight talent advantage, which was the original idea of the post, but if you look at recruiting rankings, there aren't too many years in the last 20, let alone 5 years, that we ended ranked above them in recruiting. Now, I think that they've had a lot of underperformance and lack of player development in Jimbo's final 2 years and then Willie is, well, Willie...

As I mentioned, I believe we are entering some golden years in the rivalry where we will be superior to them for a number of years in a row. They won 7 or 8 years in a row. We've got a streak of 2 in a row and I could see that stretching for a similar number of years as Jimbo had over us.

This thread is useless, its still a rivalry game, its rare one team blows out the other no matter the talent. A better thread would'vev been can we make it 3 in a row!

That has nothing to do with the points raised but ok

We don't know who will be our starting QB, but if there was a line out on this game now this far out, I'd guess it'd be Miami -2.5.

FSU Will not be the void of talent. Other than the QB position both teams look the same
This is not factual

Their dline unit isn’t good without burns ,

Linebackers suck

Even with a bunch of talent in the secondary ranked 120 in passing defense and got torched by Sanford for 450 yards passing
I know We only got one proven db but **** the unknown better than that sh*t they put out last year. **** 4 of their top 6 dbs like 5’9-5’10 in Samuels, Lytton, Myers, Taylor

Oline group far worse than Miami

Rb group overrated as **** imo(not a fan of akers)

Te group is nothing compared to miami

Receiver group, they got talent but not anywhere near what Miami got.

Miami qb- has more talent than them in that area too

With that being said it is fsu and I’m still going to be expecting a battle regardless

Recruiting rankings don’t always add up, look at how many of those guys in the highly rated classes have yet to make an impact or are not good when they see the field when they play at FSU. Majority have not panned out
