Think about it...

Administration wants richt to make changes on the offensive side of the ball, which would have likely meant firing his son. Richt instead decides to retire and leave money on the table, but only if Blake James goes after Manny (at least that's the story I've gotten from various comments regarding the situation). Miami hastily hires Diaz barely 12 hours after the announcement that Richt is stepping away, not even interviewing other candidates.

Blake James needs to GTFO!!

this conspiracy theory is ridiculous haha. Richt just got tired of dealing with **** and was feeling the pressure and stepped down bro.

You obviously never been around any corporate contract lawyers. They’re like Dogos on a hog. No one is agreeing to that in 12 hrs.

It's been reported by multiple people who follow um football (not just on this site) that the admin was basically going to force richt to make changes on the offensive side of the ball and he didn't want to do it.

exactly he didn't want to deal with that pressure and stepped down. Its straightforward.

he didnt cut a deal. manny was not happy with him which is part of the reason he went to temple. richt is gone because he didnt have it in him to see anyone get fired.

dude walked away in a timely fashion without taking any money. That’s about as honorable as you can get in this business.

COAch Babers that you?

He walked away from 20 million in favor of the program. The that’s unheard of. He also left this program in much better shape than he inherited it on and off the field. There are a few warts he could never overcome, some his fault.

Richt wants to call plays. It's what he liked and what he wanted to do. He had to accept it wasn't working and if he couldn't what he wanted, he didn't want to do it anymore.

What did Hurricane fans do to deserve all this pain and anguish? Just what did we do to deserve all of this? Please someone tell me what we did? This is yet ANOTHER poor hire. Just because someone has deep Miami ties he gets the job. Our defense was way over rated. I just don't understand it.
