This University must make 1 of 2 Decisions

ACC is seen on the same level as the Big XII at this point.

And there isn't much evidence to say its much better. We sent two teams last year and they got the brakes blown off them and it looks like it'll be the same this year when we get some jabroni team into the playoff.

Texas Tech, Utah, BYU, and Arizona State might as well just be Miami, Georgia Tech, Viginia, and Pitt. Big XII are a bunch of 1 loss teams at the top, ACC a bunch of 2 or more loss teams.
Perception is reality, unfortunately.

My perception is that the SEC and BIG10 is stocked to the brim full of dross, but because they all start the season ranked people overlook it.

I mean, those teams at the top are better...its not so much perception, its reality.

Its the middle class that makes the math wonky. You're regularly seeing teams like Tennessee or Mizzou or Illinois in the bottom of the Top 25 over teams like SMU (to me, there is very little difference between these teams, but I digress) and it gives those conferences the math that justify the perception.

I think Miami is a better team and a more worthy playoff team than Oklahoma (Miami's FPI is two points higher, but Oklahoma has "ranked wins" over Michigan, Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama, and Missouri (fugazi SOS). And a three score loss to a possible 4-loss Texas team. Miami for a second straight year, has two losses by a score and had chances to win late...again similar to last year, but the argument in 2024 was Miami had no good wins...NOW, we have (tied for THE BEST WIN of anyone in the playoff hunt outside of Alabama beating Georgia and aTm beating Notre Dame in less impressive fashion than we did) and we're still eating ****.

Yeah I have, & my Coaches always taught me that blaming refs is what losers do.
😂. You’re right officials, umpires, etc. have no impact on a game whatsoever (sarcasm )…..Do you know someone by the name of Jimmy Johnson? He acknowledged that they do make a difference. But according to your “COACH” pointing out the fact that officials do and they have impacted games is for losers…….

So every loss is because of the refs?

But none of our wins is because of the refs?

How much do the refs need to be paid to ensure that we go undefeated?

Come on read correctly. Don’t be disingenuous .. I never said that……. I said officials can and have affected games by bad calls You said no they don’t….. And then you proceeded with the name-calling by saying that my coach said blah blah blah are losers. There’s a plethora of examples where officiating has cost teams games…..

Here is a sample size.

What name calling did I do?

You asked me if I had ever played at any competitive level. My answer was yes & my Coaches taught me that blaming refs is for losers. That's literally what my Coaches taught me both in High school & College.

So where did I name call?

Yall are trying to pawn off losses onto the refs, I don't agree with that.

I've watched every snap of every game we've played this year & I do not believe we lost to Louisville or SMU because of the refs. We lost those games because of the Coaches & Players.

I don't believe in blaming other people for our shortcomings. You guys do I guess.

All I wanna know is how come the refs never have any impact on when we win, it's only when we lose somehow? I've never once seen someone say the refs gave us that game.

You’re dumping me in with some other conversation you have with somebody else cause I never blamed any losses on the refs this year any losses, please point it out.

And by the way, I gave you examples of games that were affected by officiating and you’re still gonna be close minded about the fact that officials have affected games by bad calls…… a good coach tells his players the truth…. don’t leave it up to the official where they might decide the game with a bad call.

Either leave now and join a new conference or go independent.

This sorry micky mouse operation of a conference, can not and must not be taken seriously with refs who look like they are on the job training. This **** is unbearable to watch.

We can’t have a sorry game day softy head coach and refs that continue to clearly show the inability to make correct calls. Since we ain’t getting rid of him.. we gotta leave or, get use to Pop Tart bowls every ******* year
if you watch any other conference their refs literally carry their top programs through tight games. we are the best selling brand in ACC and they try and destroy us every game.

Exactly! Here is one example last year Georgia Tech versus Vanderbilt. Although others on here will lead you to believe that doesn’t happen. ACC vs SEC

It’s because espn and now Fox are out there as publicists for those leagues. We don’t have that.

IDK, brother

That SMU game had three horrible calls.

-The so-called forward arm motion on the fumble.

-Picking up the flag on the PI late

-Unnecessary roughness on Lightfoot barely bumping their QB because he didn't hear the whistle.

All could have changed the outcome of the game.
Don’t forget the phantom holding call on Francis and the changed definition of a catch play! I still cant believe that sht. I’ve been watching football for thirty plus years and that has NEVER been a catch, ever!

These calls essentially win the game for us.

One play can change the outcome of a game. So of course referees can make calls to change the outcome of a game. It’s not even a difficult concept to grasp.

Apparently, a one-score game that went into OT could not have been affected by multiple bad calls. And if it did, it must mean the refs should have helped us in our one-score wins, even though we doubled our opponents' penalties in those games.

If we can be in the title conversation yearly up until the exit fee drops I would love to see us go independent and get someone like (Bezos) Amazon Prime to be our primary station like ND has NBC. You have to get creative going forward to survive
